The gunman.. William Spengler who ambushed four volunteer firefighters, killing two, in upstate New York had spent 17 years in prison for beating his grandmother to death with a hammer in 1980.....

Police would not say what kinds of guns Spengler used, but as a convicted felon, he could not legally own firearms.

The number of firearm-related homicides fell from 17,073 in 1993 to 9,903 in 2011...Per capita, the gun-related murder rate (still unacceptably high ) has dropped by more than 50% over the past two decades.

I think you have a monopoly on righteous indignation.

But it is amusing watching you talk about others throwing tantrums when you are the one who is using words like gun grabbing when the only discussion is the possible restrictions on very specific types of weapons.

The easiest way to get you to run away is to ask if you favor a person openly carrying an assault weapon into your child's school.

Then you become awful quiet on the issue of restrictions.

what else kills people that we should ban?

if you want to talk specific guns like assault rifles I am on board. If you want to talk crazy about making all guns illegal I am afraid I am not in agreement.

But we all know almost any gun can be altered to be a high powered  automatic weaon so it is what it is.....passing laws isnt always the answer. We also know that any person who trully wants to make a gun from scratch could easily do it. We also know that guns if banned would only be a boon for the black market.

Hows the war on drugs working out for us??

Parlay that over to the war (ironic I know) on guns and I imagine the results would be the same.
