Veteran Republican political consultant and dirty trickster Roger Stone published a startling accusation against Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney on his website, The Stone Zone. Stone claims that the Koch brothers paid Mitt Romney to get Paul Ryan on the Republican ticket. The billionaires, according to Stone, promised to shell out an extra $100 million toward “independent expenditure” campaigning for the GOP ticket to get their preferred candidate on the ballot.
Stone recently left the Republican Party and registered as a Libertarian.

If Stone’s allegations are true, this is a serious campaign-finance violation according to journalist Joe Conason of The National Memo.
