The Counterculture formed in the '60's as American youth protested an unpopular war. Middle class kids became hippies and dropped out. One could surmise that the Warren Commission was the foundation of the counterculture.
Government COULDN'T be trusted.
While the counterculture was on the left, the right went right on doing what they were always doing. Did you ever see an episode of the Brady Bunch mention the war or hippies? The biggest taboo subject they ever covered was Greg smoking cigarettes.
Today we have a unique situation where the right (Tea Party), the left (Wall Street Protesters) and the Libertarians (Ron Paul) movement have their crosshairs pointed at government.
But government is like those Alien spaceships at the beginning of the movies like "Battle of L.A." Unpenetratable.
Sometimes in order to acheive a happy ending, you have to get into bed with those you completely disagree with. It's gonna be a difficult fight. The Spaceship from the planet DeeCee, which is loaded with aliens who completely disagree with each other, has defenses we haven't even seen yet.

I read about your zeitgeist movement and I believe that it would divide us more than we are already divided.
I can never believe that the government under Bush just let 911 happen. There might have been lapses in judgement but this is a huge theory. Surely somebody would have come forward with the truth, if it was the truth.
But there are elements about the bankers that I do agree with.

You might want to check out Zeitgeist Addendum on youtube. Unlike the first film which had conspiracies dealing with religion and 9/11 which turned some folks off, Addendum deals more with the Federal Reserve and how the fractional banking system works. Basically shows how the system is corrupt and set up to fail.
If you don't know how the banking system works, give the film about 15-20 minutes and then you'll probably want to hear more.
