#2 Posted: 8/7/2012 7:04:20 AM I prefer Ryan to Schaub. I think he has better weapons and never seems to get hurt. No argument with Murray, but Lloyd could be in for a big bounceback year as Brady's deep threat. Tough call between he and Nelson. |

#3 Posted: 8/7/2012 11:54:25 AM I actually changed Ryan to Schaub last night thinking the same thing.
Was also thinking of not keeping Ryan or Schaub, but keeping Nelson, Lloyd & Murray. Then taking my chances in the later rounds with a couple of qb's?
Thoughts?
Thanks Getty!

#4 Posted: 8/7/2012 8:31:18 PM Ryan and Schaub should be mid-round picks. If you have either one pegged prior to the 5th round, you're overvaluing them. Ryan is deserving of a 3rd round pick, but should last until at least the 5th round. He was the most consistent of the "next level" QBs last year and should be even better this season. If you want to wait until late (after round 6) to grab a QB in a very QB heavy class, consider Josh Freeman of TB, Andy Dalton of Cinci, Ryan Fitzpatrick of Buffalo, or Blaine Gabbert of Jax( super sleeper, but should be available on the waiver wire after week 1) |

#5 Posted: 8/7/2012 8:36:40 PM I forgot to mention that Rashard Mendenhall (who was on your 1st post list) is a horrible choice, but his pending replacement, Isaac Redman, will be a fantasy star this year. |

#6 Posted: 8/7/2012 8:43:07 PM Don't take Schaub. Houston is a running team and shaub will never win a fantasy week for you. Guy never breaches 15.
Matt Ryan is the easy choice
maybe Murray and Bolden |

#7 Posted: 8/7/2012 9:36:25 PM Slikstiks - I don't think Boldin is a top 36 pick.
I think it comes down to keeping Ryan or Lloyd...that's my dilema.
Thoughts?

#8 Posted: 8/7/2012 10:28:36 PM If healthy I think that Murray will have a good year. Talk around here is that the cowboys are losing trust in Felix Jones and that Murray is the better 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down back. Felix will prob be used solely to give Murray a rest.
at least that is what the local sports radio is saying. |

#13 Posted: 8/14/2012 3:18:48 AM It's Ryan, Lloyd, and Murray and its really not even close.
You have to consider who will be available in fantasy leagues as well as who you want to keep. I wouldnt even mind throwing Ryan back into the pool in exchange for Nelson I you have the feeling you can upgrade at QB in the draft. Chances are you won't be able too. Plus I think it could be argued that Ryan's upside this season is much higher than Nelson's. As deep as QB is, WR is even deeper.
Here is the thing; tier one and most tier two QB's will be kept. So you're already seeing Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Stafford, Newton, most likely Vick(he has huge upside even though he is a huge risk), both Mannings and possibly Cutler may all be off the board. Ok maybe Cutler is a reach for keeping. But it's basically going to look something similar to that.
You have to ask yourself if you can upgrade from Ryan's potential upside(good receivers in an offense that is expected to throw more this year) versus what you may be able to get in the draft. Without knowing who will be tossed back, I would be willing to say no.
Essentially by tossing Ryan back, you may be throwing away the best QB available. If there is a better QB available then draft him and look to package Ryan with another player in a deal.
BOL with whatever you decide. |

#14 Posted: 8/14/2012 10:57:50 AM Ktrain - thank you for your input.
I think keeping Ryan is the right thing to do as I agree with everything that you said. With White, Jones, Gonzo and an aging Turner, this should be a pass happy team and I am not sure I can get better than Ryan in the draft.
With that said, why do you like Lloyd over Nelson? Nelson was solid last year, this is also a PPR league. Finally, on a team with Welker, Hern & Gronk, Lloyd could have limited upside.
Here are my options: Lloyd, Nelson, Murray Ryan, Nelson, Murray Ryan, Lloyd, Murray
I don't believe Lloyd is a top 50 pick and if he isn't why not throw him back in and wait to draft.
Other thing that I am thinking is building for next year. Since this is a keeper league, thinking of picking up Luck or RG3 in the mid rounds.
thoughts?

#15 Posted: 8/14/2012 12:42:58 PM I think Murray is gonna be a scrub this year. OVER RATED.
You may want to consider not keeping him and go with Ryan-Lloyd-Nelson. |

#16 Posted: 8/14/2012 12:57:12 PM Tundra,
I like Lloyd's potential upside versus Nelson's. I don't think you can go wrong with Nelson but I like rolling the dice on guys that would be going towards the middle rounds. Plus WR is deep and I think if Lloyd doesn't pan out like I think he will you can find a waiver wire pick up that gets receptions and will make up for what Lloyd isn't producing.
Basically I think the potential upside with Lloyd is worth the risk. I could be wrong though. |

#17 Posted: 8/15/2012 8:48:53 PM I would go with Murray, Nelson, and Lloyd or Ryan. You can get Ryan far after the 3rd round, which is why I would side with Lloyd. Brady loves to go deep, and that's all Lloyd does. You can get Ryan back in the first or second round. I wouldn't even consider keeping Schaub. GL
