Karstens was a horrible reliever for the Yankees and now he starts for the Pirates tonight?  Baseball is a funny game.  With no Jason Bay, a wounded LaRoche and Sanchez, and minus Marte in the bullpen, this Pirates team is starting to resemble a skeleton crew.  I would never take Jason Marquis on a -220 ML, however a shot on the RL might be called here.  This game is a perfect example of two teams going in different directions.  Pittsburg's morale is now at a season low and the fade should begin now.

How about Cubs-2.5,lot of holes in Pittsburgh line up now,Jason should be able to pitch around the couple guys that can hit.

My Buccos were toast from day one, but now they're just a toasted PB&J sam'ich!  I was surprised at the big ML juice, but it's almost too easy.  I lost 4 units on the stinkin' no-run-scorin' Dodgers tonight but I see an easy 2 unit return on backing the Cubs (I could be greedy and try to get the whole 4 units back at once, but what fun is that).

and will the new players be in the lineup for pittsburgh?

even with bay and nady gone, and laroche and sanchez injured, if you throw in brandon moss and the other laroche, they are STILL way better than they have been in the last few years.

I'd be careful with this one.  The Pirates had yesterday off and the Cubs just finished sweeping their rival in a 4 game set.  They may be emotionally spent and not ready to get up for this Pirates team.  The Pirates on the other hand are now playing with a lot of replacements and that's a difficult thing to cap.  You don't know what they're going to do.  These replacements will want to make a splash so they'll be giving 110% today.  I can't say I think the Cubs will do the same.  This is an easy game for them to take for granted.  I don't trust either of these pitchers.  Marquis is nothing special.  The Cubs look like the easy play, but I just don't trust it.  And there's no way I'd touch the Cubs ML at -220 or more.
