I like Orlando's team total in this game, as the Raptors don't have anyone down low that is strong enough to stop Howard. Orlando has scored over 100 points against Toronto 4 straight games. Can't stop the streak

Orlando - The addition of head coach Van Gundy and F Rashard Lewis will help the team immediatly. (which it did). Also expect ghooting guard J J Redick to have quite a few high-scoring nights of his own ( this never happened) because teams will be concentrating on stopping Lewis and man-child Howard.
Toronto - With the continued growth of superstar Bosh (I actually think he played better last season) and last years first overall draft pick Bargnani, the Raps have a solid foundation to build on for years to come. (I agree, but they are in over their heads here)
MAGIC GAME AND SERIES.

Man- I'm having a tough time with this one and have been ice cold on NBA this season.
I think Orl wins but can see a cover by Toronto.
Great pts nightridah- these teams are more even then the public thinks. Both teams are good with the ball, good shooters. I can see Howard having a huge series as well as Bosh.

Orlando hasn't even won a playoff game since 2003, thanks to their four-game sweep at Detroit's hands after sneaking into the postseason last year. Another early exit would be crushing after the Magic improved 12 games over last season and won their first division title in a dozen years.
The Magic have made at least five 3s in all 82 games this season, shattering the NBA record of 51 consecutive games set by Phoenix in 2005. By another measure, 3-pointers averaged per game, Orlando had the second-best season in NBA history behind the same Phoenix team (9.77 a game, compared with the Suns' 10.21).
Three Raptors are in the league's top 11 in 3-point shooting percentage -- Jason Kapono, Anthony Parker and Jose Calderon -- and Kapono's 48.3 percent was best in the league.
In Howard, Bosh will face one of the NBA's best inside players. The 22-year-old is averaging 20.7 points and a league-leading 14.2 rebounds.
The Magic worry about Toronto's pick-and-roll and haven't found an answer for Bosh. He has averaged 22.7 points in 13 career games against Orlando, more than any other team. The forward hung 40 points on the Magic on Feb. 20 in a 127-110 Raptors win, the team's highest offensive output of the season.
Toronto finished the last two months of the regular season 9-17, so Orlando has the momentum. The Magic also have a bit of a chip on their shoulders -- the No. 3 seeded team is rarely mentioned as an Eastern Conference contender.
"Nobody's ever given us a shot to do anything," Howard said. "Personally, nobody's ever given me a shot to do what I've accomplished, and as a team it's been the same way. We're just going to go out and play our game."
This will be another tight tight came.... Will Toronto be able to win on the Raod? Will home court be enough for Orlando? I know Orlando really wants this game. They want some bragging rights. That 7 points is right where it should be. But it is a lot to give a team that could very well beat Orlando straight up. If you're going to give a team 7 points that could easily beat Orlando.... I'll take them. May even play this real smart, buy the 3, and take Toronto +10..... Now that looks nice. 10 points it is for me! I think this line stars dropping soon.
Toronto +7

The teams are similar. Bosh is capable of putting up big numbers against Orlando, averaging 33 points in the two games he played against the Magic this season. Ford and Calderon have made it a habit of driving through the paint, either scoring themselves or dishing it off to a teammate, and also of running an effective pick-and-roll. Nesterovic has not played much against the Magic this season, but in Toronto's past seven games, he has averaged 18.3 ppg and 7.4 rpg. Parker, Jason Kapono and Andrea Bargnani are dangerous 3-point threats, and Moon is very athletic. Toronto has been hampered by injuries much of the season and, if it stays healthy, is better than its record indicates.

what happened to the guy with the homer simpson avatar?
You mean me? I've been buying my time waiting for the playoffs to begin, hanging out and surviving in the baseball forums.
It was a good day for the home teams yesterday, as 3 out of 4 got the win. They all took much different paths to get there however. The Cavs were close the whole way before letting LeBron dominate the end of the game as he usually does. The Spurs struggled early before making several miracle shots and getting the win late. The Hornets were following the same path as the Spurs however dominated the crap out of the 2nd half and took it down.
What we haven't had yet is a home team dominate the first half, and that's what I think we see here. The Raptors are the type of team that goes from hot to cold and cold to hot really quickly as they rely on the outside shot for anything outside of Bosh. The home crowd and the pressure of having expectations for the first time in a while should hold them back in the first half.
Ride the energy of the home town team here....especially with this cheap of a line.
