Fuck y'all for laughing at me!
Yes, I am putting up 4x the amount on New Jersey again tonight. I'm a professionsal. I don't give a shit about those games now. That was in the past. This is today.
Last I checked, the Warriors were losing a game at home to the haplesss T-Wolves, a game which apparently set them on fire as they came back the next night and blew the Suns away.
New Jersey however unlike the T-Wolves, has the Warriors number, so all conventional wisdom has to be thrown out the window when this kind of thing happens with such alarming frequency.
Here's what i've got. Vince Carter drafted by Warriors. Vince Carter sent to the Raptors in a draft day trade for Antawn jamison. Vince Carter comes back to Oakland and wins the Slam Dunk contest. I grew up playing basketball against Jason Kidd, who went to Saint Joseph's in Alameda. I went to Oakland Technical (the school that has produced Clint Eastwood, Marshawn Lynch, Rickey Henderson. Leon Powe, Dawn from En Vogue, etc. I'm tooting my horn about my old school) and played against hiim several times, as well as Gary Payton, who went to Skyline High School.
One thing about those Bay Area boys. When they come home and play infront of their old freinds, family etc., they don't want to give a bad showing, and they lay it all out on the line for those in attendance. Jason Kidd was a phenom from our area and we all knew that he would go pro from the moment he laced up his shoes. Look at these numbers of the recent form between these teams.
New jersy is 9-1 ats when playing Golden State, going 8-2 straight up. They are also 9-4 ats on the raod at Golden State as well. They have practically the same team together that they had while compiling this record. The Warriors plain and simple are a team that thrives on creating turnovers for the opposition. but if the opposition takes care of the ball, they don't get as many opportunities to score. This is why they have problems playing teams from the east coast. Jason kidd is one of the best in the NBA at taking care of the ball and distributing it. And I know that he doesn't want to have everyone talking about how bad he looked when he leaves town.
Conversely, the Warriors have had ats losses at home in their last two games to Minnesota (-11), and Indiana (-9.5). Obviously the linemakers ahve responded to those losses by lowering their spread to 8 for this game, figuring that the lines were just too high. And they were right. However, I have the magical power to buy 3 points and make the spread 11 again, a number which seems hard for the Warriors to cover these days for whatever reason.
Listen closely..The Warriors have only covered a double digit spread at home once this year and it was against Milwaukee on 12/5/07 120-90 (-10.5) Hell even Miami covered against them at the Oracle Arena.
You guys can say what you want, but all that I know is that as bad as it may seem the Nets +11 is the play here, and I will wait until right before gametime. I may get a half point more even.
