HOLMGREN GOT IT RIGHT..."WE NEED TO PASS MORE"...OBVIOUSLY THE WHOLE WORLD IS GOING TO BE ON THE SEATTLE...THAT SCARES ME FOR SOME REASON....BUT I DO BELIEVE THIS ONE GOES OVER BY 3RD QUARTER!!!

carolina is:
7- 0  ATS as dogs after allowing more than 35 pts
5 - 2 ATS as home dogs of >5 pts
9 - 4 ATS off dd ATS loss.

Here's a tip for when you think Vegas is right and the game will go as they say.  If you're betting online and your book has adjusted lines, then bet on both the adjusted lines.  You can do it for the spread or the over/under.

For example, for Denver@Houston, I have the spread at DEN -2 and the total at 47.  This means the score would be:

DEN 24.5
HOU 22.5

If you think the spread is accurate, then bet on HOU +7.5 and DEN +3.5:

HOU +7½
Risking:$100.00 To Win:$37.77

DEN +3½
Risking:$100.00 To Win:$44.44

If the game stays close and both bets win, you win $82.  You aren't really risking $200, though because
it is impossible for both of these to lose, but if one of them loses, you lose the bet.  Depending on which loses, you lose $62 or $56.

 

If you think the total is accurate, then bet on the high under and the low over:

TOTAL (DEN/HOU) u57½
Risking:$100.00 To Win:$25.00

TOTAL (DEN/HOU) o37½
Risking:$100.00 To Win:$25.00

So you have a 20-point range of victory that wins you $50. Again, it is impossible for both to lose, but if either loses, you lose $75.

The amount the spread/total is adjusted and the payouts change quite a bit from game to game so these numbers aren't accurate for every game but they are in the ballpark.

I remember at some point last year seeing the headline:  Think you know football?  Vegas does.  To this point in the season, there have been 100 overs, 99 unders, and 9 pushes.

 


So if they can be that accurate, try betting with them sometimes.  Good luck.

Only way carolina scores in this 1 is if Sea will give them some of thiers!!! Panthers look like horseshit, smith and peppers might as well look elsewhere next year. Different team since delhome got hurt. If they ever play san fran i think there be more people tailgatin than in the stadium. Sea is hot right now(kinda look like my Cowboys) they will easily cover. With that said this game is the "LOCK OF THE WEEK" christmas comin early this year

Seattle is on a nice win streak right now....6-1 ATS in the last 7 games coincides with the date that Holmgren decided to put the game in Hasselbecks hands.  This should be an easy cover...the Seattle D has been ball hawking as of late and there should be several turnovers that give Seattle a short field to work with.

only problem with taking Hawks is they are a west coast team playing at 1:00 on the east coast which seems to hurt their productivity travel body clock bla bla bla

Excellent point elvis, thank ya very much.  but Carolina is playing their third stringer this weekend, i THINK and one team has been smoking and the other team has been getting burned

Seattle is due for a correction after 5 straight games of covering. to give another team a touchdown at home is downright embarrassing.
 
For what it's worth Moore is better option than David Carr, because he can move his feet and produce a few first downs with his legs.
 
Seattle has no running game to speak of, and that will allow for better coverage options, meaning that the panthers need to play nickel coverage mostly all of the game, and spot rush Peppers, allowing him to drop back into coverage sometimes too.
 
if Seattle turns the ball over  deep in their own zone, look out. All that it takes is two turnovers in the right place, and Carolina covers easily

Over looks fantastic. Just hope they don't hold Carolina to 7 or less.
 
Anyone remember that Seattle / Philly game a couple weeks ago? They played in shitty winds and rainy conditions, and had claimed the over by nearly half way through the second quarter. And that point total was 41-44 i believe.
 
How about a 7 point teaser. Seattle in a pk and over 30. Money in the bank!

I think you guys are really digging for an excuse for Seattle to lose. Their passing game will dominate this Sunday. Matt Moore threw for how many touchdowns this year?

Right on Bazooken...no way does Carolina come close in this one.  Seattle has been one of the best teams in the NFL the past 5-6 weeks, and have emerged as a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the NFC.  Shaun Alexander is slowly coming back into form, and Matt Hasselbeck has just been damn good recently.  Carolina could start their 8th string quarterback, it doesn't matter.  They have Steve Smith and not much else...so teams lock in on him and shut him down and the Panthers crumble.  As far as the defense is concerned...the Panthers don't have a chance to use their talent because they are on the field for so long!!  This game is going to be a repeat of last week...even the Jaguars put up 37 on them!!  Take Seattle -8 and OVER 37.5

Elvis, look at the Philly/Seattle game a couple of weeks ago, against a much, much better team I must say..  People thought the same thing about the west coast/east coast travel, but they are professionals and prepare for this kind of event.  I think that Seattle will be ready for this one also and take Carolina behind the woodshed.  Carolina absolutely BLOWS.  I will not take them A-gain this year, unless they were getting what the Jets are getting from the Pats.  This line would look a litte better for people taking Carolina if it was Seattlegiving 12 instead of 7.5.  I think the .5 is their to entice Carolina $$$$.

Philly is not nearly as bad as thier record indicates and Seattle isn't nearly as good as thiers.......not to mention, Philly blew that game!!!  Two plundges from the half yardline in the last seconds of the first half(one TD).....a punt return that shoulda scored in the last minute(another TD).....but BW got pushed out by the last guy.......and a pick off(one of 4 on the day) at the goal line to secure a narrow win by the Hawks.  The Hawks play in the worst division in football!!!!!!  I'll take the 7 against a team that can play good defense at home.  One of these days.....Steve Smith will blow up.....even with some chump throwing him toss ups.  GL though......

Laying off this one to concentrate on Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and Colts wagers only, which I think are the more solid picks.

I am on the over 18.5 first half for this game.  The Seahawks have scored 17 to 27 pts in the first half for their past six games.

Yes, traveling West to East is hard on the body but the Seahawks have recently won in St. Louis and Philly, so we'll see if they can be productive here.

First of all Tokin 33 that middle post on every sight is a pain in the ^&*(%.
 
Carolina team, staff, fans, media, owner, have QUIT.  This line should be double digits.  Moore is young and color-blind.  Fox (as usual) will be very conservative and protect him with 3rd and long, draw plays.  If you think Seattle can score 13 points, take the Hawks.  The Panthers count by 3's not 7's.  Red Zone is a joke.  play of the day on Hawks.
