NCAAF official game threads are here!  No spread posted but most books have WF -12.5

Here are my early thoughts on this game.  WF wins easily here Skinner is a great QB and their defense is opportunistic.

cant wait till the season starts , college football is by far my best betting sport then nfl...LETS CRACK THESE SITES AND BOOKIES HEADS IN AGAIN THIS YEAR FELLAS ....no line yet but if it is -12.5 wf , ill be on wake they should control the clock and there D will do its thing, they should win by at least 21

Just a word of caution---- The last time the Demon Deacons covered a double digit spread as a favorite was against Duke back in 2005. I agree Wake seems to be loaded for BEAR, especially the Baylor Bear I'm having a hard time convincing myself that they are the play here.
Wake 0 - 8 as non-conference favs of 3 or more.

WF seems to easy here like Colonel said- more research on this one.

As follow to my first comment.  I'm still undecided just wanted to post what the line is at some books and post my initial thoughts on the game.

If the line goes above WF-14, Baylor might be worth a look. Wake has a lot of hype around them in the preseason, but I can't see them blowing out any team. This team struggled against bad opponets last year like Duke. I think they might come out slow here in the first game.

Dont forget Baylor has the New Head Coach Art Briles! He is known for running extremely unconventional offenses. I know that WF has tape on him, but I think the Offense may give them trouble early!

I think Vegas is trying to hook all of us into betting Wake Forest.  I would speculate that WF is going to have a good team this year and could (big could) compete for the ACC Championship if the cards fall right. 

To peg the game at 12.5 seems a little light for a team that is "supposed" to be an ACC contender against lowly Baylor.  Either I'm missing something or Vegas has a card up their sleeve.  I'm not going to touch this game, but the 12.5 looks like a pretty sexy lay.

Wake Forest is returning 16 and Baylor 17 with 3 key defensive starters.

Baylor keeps it within the +27 on a Super Teaser.

I don't like giving that many on the road in an opening game so I will probably pass on this one.  If I decide to bet it, I will take Wake.  Grobe is an excellent coach, and Wake has a lot of talent returning.  While Briles might be unconventional, Grobe is unconventional and isn't a first year coach so the players know the system.  Wake wins and covers this one.  One unit play.

Baylor's Off / Def ratings for LY were 87 / 110 They were 4/7 ATS. Average points were Off 18 Def 37 Freshy QB. LY as a home dog ATS they were 1 / 3
 
Wake's was 99 / 40 They were 8 / 5 ATS. Average points were Off 27   Def.  22. QB Skinner passing % ,72.4%   LY as a road fav.ATS they were 2 / 2.

Really Excited for the start of the season. Think I'm going to leave this one alone though. I also don't like giving up this many points on the road in an opening season game. I'll regret it if wake forest destroys them, but this seems like one to leave alone. I'll just have to wait until saturday to start betting. May change my mind around game time if the spread goes down, but that probably won't happen.

I like Wake on anything less than -14 . If it gets to 14, I would have to lay off.

WF falls into a trend that is 38-14 (73%) over the last 10 years.
 
The trend is: Play Against - Home Underdogs - terrible rushing team from last season - averaged 100 yds or less rushing per game
