Congratulations MAC conference for putting on national TV such an entertaining football game. It wasn't very long ago that MAC football was painful to watch. Wenning the Ball St QB is going to throw it for well over 300 yards. Lynch is the perfect player for a particular kind of highly entertaining potent college football offense. Spread out those wide receivers, then pick your poison.Cover those wide receivers rush the QB and Lynch will kill you with a 20 yard run because a running lane will be open and the middle of the field is wide open. Try to stop Lynch from running and a wide receiver is open. This works great in college but not in the pros because NFL linebackers are so much bigger and faster the QB's can't take the punishment. But Lynch is freakishly strong and fast for his 220 pound size. He makes MAC defenses look foolish. Lines aren't out yet so I don't know if I'm betting this game. I'll be rooting for Lynch and company cuz I'm an NIU grad. Gotta be careful and lay off those homer bets, which I have when the line is too high.Gonna be doing this for sure though.

Going to be a great game...couldn't ask for a better way for these 2 to fight it out for the Mac title...points could come fast & furious in this one..I'm guessing the total will be mid 70s for this...Both QBs having incredible seasons...though I'll take Lynch & the small -6 at home for this one...

NIU for the medium. Dekalb will be rockin, got it at -5.5. Home field advantage is at least three and on a neutral field I'd say NIU favored by 5. Unleash the wrath of Lynch on this university that names itself after a kids toy. But I caution folks , it's gonna be a shootout and the last team that has the ball might win this thing. Gets good and windy out there in Dekalb this time of year so check that before hitting the over.

I've been riding NIU most fo the year I've teased them when they have a large line on the road with success. ZUD makes some good points about the QBs cause these teams macth up so close.
College D's seem to play better at home  Also NIU has a veteran O-line as opposed to Ball St.having less experience.  Seems NIU has Balls number looking for there 5th straight .
Ball has  youth at the kicking game. NIU a vet.  Teasing NIU to Buff

NIU has been very impressive for so long with Lynch running the show that I cannot go against them at home, with chance to showcase themselves nationally.  No disrespect to BG but NIU - 6 1/2 is a solid play for me .  GL to all.

Weird stat. NIU seniors have never lost a home game. Four years they have N-E-V-E-R lost a home game. Do you think it's a trend? Line has gone to 7 so I'm glad I placed my bet when I did. Ball ST is really good, this game is capped pretty close to where it should be…now. But that stadium in Dekalb is right out there next to the corn fields and it is wide open on each end. And they don't call the winter winds in Chicagoland the hawk for nothin. If it is good and windy out there right before game time I'll know and I'll report it right here. Then that excellent Ball ST QB will be screwed, especially when the wind is blowing right in his face for two quarters. NIU has a good running game while Ball St relies on the pass.

Teams have put up LARGE passing stats and points against NIU this season.  Ball State has plenty of fire power on offense and this should be a high flying shootout.  Love the over and ball State to keep it close.

While a BSU grad I am.....I'm not a blind homer.....Zod said 4 years without a lose at home!!!  Yo!!!  That is a serious run.  Ball St can score on anyone!  The weather could certainly effect the game.  Last year NIU was about the same caliber of team and won this game at Muncie by a total that would cover this year's spread.....but Ball St is a better team this year running and passing......the problem for both of these squads is D!!!!!  NIU ranks 84th and Ball St 85th in the country.   Both teams can run and pass all over the place and have creative play calling consistently!!  As long as it's not snowing or too crazy cold or windy, I would think this would go over the 72 I see most places on the total.......If I had to take a side with a gun to my head......I'd take the Huskies.....but I don't!!!  Thank god!!  I'll take the over unless Zod's weather report is eye opening.  GL ya'll!!!  Love the fact you like my Cards Vue!!!

I see very similar teams, great offenses(little +on NIU), under average defenses(little + on BSU), almost cover the spread every time but when they don't cover you go like  Ball St at home against Kent St, NIU at home against Akron. having said that, i'll wait before kickoff to get a +TD underdog on a very even game

everyone is talking over and how horrible these D's are,  but check the Defensive numbers of these 2 teams over their last 5 games, neither team is giving up a lot of points during that span, northern illionos is giving up 21 points per over that span, with ball state giving up an average of 24, neither team has given up a score in the 30's during that span either, it's true that both have good offenses and they will both score the ball, but 72 is a big number and not just based on how  their D's have played recent but also based on last years score between the 2,  I see a 35 to 28 type of game, UNDER 72.

This line is inflated as Vegas knows NIU is a ranked team and at home, so the public will be siding with them (almost 70% are taking NIU !) Fact : NIU has not covered the last 4 home games vs. Ball St., actually losing 2 outright as huge favorites. Beware here as this is a good matchup game for Ball St. and is for first place in their division. NIU and Lynch are a really good team, but I'm taking the points here. I see this as a very tight, down to the wire, game with Ball St. winning outright and not as high scoring as some think. There will be tough going in the red zone for both teams, resulting in more FG's than TD's. I've been betting football for 55 years and seen so many games, just like this one, where both teams play a bit more conservative and tighter than normal. Strictly my opinion, good luck to all.  THE Myth
