while I expect the terps to be improved this season it will be hard not to set sail with the midshipmen in this spot,,in fact,  all the service schools should have a nice season ATS wise

O/U 49 got to think under here Was at the Red / White Spring game for the Terps didnt see alot of promise there.

Well you can put the chub away..Must be a misprint. Navy is favored by - 6.5/7   They are not the underdog

Midshipmen -6.5                  under 49

Coming off a 10 win season and a huge upset bowl victory over the Mizzu Tigers has to have the Middies feeling extremely confident about the upcoming 2010 season. Dobbs and Company get it done with a commanding performance vs the Terps. Navy - Under.

Ok, so here's the deal.  I'm in Vegas only for the time of this game as I'm driving my wife and kids cross country to move back to NY from LA for a while.
I hate the table games, and this is the only game FB game on while I'm in town.  
I'm leaning heavily on Navy -6.5, as the QB seems worthy as well as some really nice write ups on the team as a whole.. I haven't heard one great thing about Maryland or any of their players... 
The problem is, if I lose, I have to hear my wife on the drive all the way from Vegas to NY... Please reaffirm my pick.. Thank you.

I don't see anything out of the Terds this year, a lot like last year !  But a back door cover is possible but unlikely, IMO.  I'm betting a weeks pay ($1350) on this one and its not on the TERDS !!  My wife would kill me if she knew this !

 Feel the Terps represent some value here. Still Navy is somewhat formidable.  See a close game here. Maryland ain't beating anyone in their conference this year, so they got to pick the spots. Definetely liking the points here! (1 Unit)

And for what it's worth, I like your pick.

The only worry with Navy is that they lost half their defense and their four best tacklers but do return at least one key player on all three levels of the defense, including safety Wyatt Middleton, a 4th year starter who's been named to the watch list for the Lott Trophy (the top defensive player in the country).

As far as the rest of the team goes, two of their lineman are on the watch list for the Lombardi Trophy, their fullback is on the watch list for the Doak Walker award, and their quarterback is a Heisman Trophy candidate who's usually a lock to run for 100 yards and a touchdown, every start.

That triple option they run is a headache for most defenses because it's unfamiliar in general and even more so now with so many offenses running the spread. 

Maryland does return most of it's defense this season, but they ranked 100th in the nation last year.

It's also worth mentioning that Navy actually received 12 votes in the opening AP football poll.

The Maryland coach is on the hot seat for a reason while Navy has become one of the better coached teams in the nation and I think they're a legitimate touchdown favorite here..

I obviously like the Midshipmen and locked it at 6.5 before it goes up to seven.

I'm on Navy here... I'd like to top off a nice weekend here with a large play, but I don't know anything about Maryland. What I have found doesn't necessarily impress me. Is there anything I need to be aware of with Maryland? Navy's spread gave teams fits last year, but they're only 6.5 point favs? It worries me a little... Like I'm missing something?
