#2 Posted: 10/4/2009 10:37:30 AM I am not getting off my Husker train anytime soon, and this week is no different. Mizzou has been a surprise this year, as they lost almost 90% of their offensive production from last year, but the new crop of players has really stepped it up. Columbia will be rocking Thursday night and it will be a difficult place to play at. However, the Huskers are a very focused team - they beat Va tech up and down the field for 58 minutes, until they gave up the 81 yard pass play with a minute left. and they rolled La tech last week 55-0. Husker D is not anything close to the D that got pounded by Mizzou last year (Pelini tried a hybrid D scheme that game and it obviously backfired). Husker D line is likely top 2-3 in the country, and the young backers are getting better. Huskers do need better play from QB Lee then he gave them in Blacksburg, as he was clearly jumpy playing in that environment, but I think the team is better off for having lost at Tech the way they did...Huskers are healthy, focused, and while they have not won in Columbia since 2001 (I think?), I expect a W here. Do not be surprised if NU is favored by 1-2 when the line comes out...I will be banging this one hard as NU gains an early advantage in the Big 12 North with a good road win |

I don't like betting against my Huskers, but a Thursday night home dog is a Thursday night home dog. I'm a little surprised a 4-0 Mizzou team is getting points at home. They've also won the last 2 against Nebraska. My pick is Mizzou. |

#14 Posted: 10/5/2009 4:05:01 PM Road team has won SU 3 times in last 10. How can Neb be 41 pts better than Mizzou this year? 55-17= 38 +3 pt spread. And on the road! I initially thought Neb would be a dog here ( at least 3') and was poised to play them, but as a Road Chalk?? Its asking alot out of the 'Huskers in this spot. All summer I argued with people who said Mizzou would be no good now cuz of Macklin and Daniel and my response has been that they can RECRUIT with the others now BECAUSE of those two! They have QUALITY players now, its not a case of a one recruiting class wonder thing. This aint your grand daddys Mizzou. I'm all screwed up with this now, I'm gunna track the line moves. Its most likely Mizzou or no play for me . GL all

#16 Posted: 10/5/2009 5:48:06 PM As a Missouri grad, I can tell you the Tigers always have a little something saved for Nebraska in Columbia... And while Im not sold on MU yet, I think they find a way to squeeze out a W on a Thursday night in front of a crazed crowd...

#17 Posted: 10/5/2009 6:39:39 PM Call me Homer Simpson but Nebraska wins and covers here. I don't like going against the home dog especially on Thursday but Nebraska is the better team. Good Luck |

#19 Posted: 10/5/2009 10:18:11 PM Thursday home dog theory really not a factor here since they both had off weeks last week. Not like NU is traveling on short rest.

#23 Posted: 10/6/2009 12:57:47 AM Thursday night home dog getting three points, its such a obvious pick. you have to take the home dog. I know your probably not giving Nebraska any respect but they will move the ball on Mizzou and quite easily I believe. Go ahead at take Mizzou's offense that rolled Illinois, Nevada, Furman, and bowiling green. Nebraska is going to win this game. bye the way I was on S.Car and Louis tech as home dogs

#24 Posted: 10/6/2009 9:57:51 AM I know the trend but I'm bucking it for this game.. After gong to V. Tech and playing in that environment and should have won the game... with that road and environment experience now under their belt I'm going with the "red". Although Missouri has surprised me this year... I think this Nebraska team is on the cusp of being really good. Nebraska -3 Sharp |

Part of the THURSDAY home dog issue is short rest AND traveling. People betting the game should know that short rest is not a factor. Simple as that. The home dog factor is the same as any other home dog factor in this instance without added issues.
