Last year, a bad Michigan team GAVE Notre Dame the win with many turnovers in their own end, and still made a game of it.  This year, Michigan is extremely improved on both sides of the ball. With the newely renovated stadium, the noise level is rediculous.  After the Western blowout, Rich Rod and the new explosive offense will overtake the Irish.

could be as it seems, the Irish talent level and style of play may have finally come 2geather. Notre Dame look more explosive than Michigan in week 1, and Clausen probably has a firmer grip on his offense than young Mr. Forcier. my money flows with the Irish, etremely Blue in Michigan Saturday night. Hope Coach Rod wont put his boyz 2 work without SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you in regards to Notre Dame coming together.  I feel that the game that turned things around was the Hawaii Bowl.  The Irish played excellant.  As far as the "work" comment, a horrible thought by you.  You should know, as most real college football fans know, that all relevant college football schools probably practice and do football related activities more than the NCAA allows.  Players, Coaches and Fans recognize and disregard this as much as possible.  Unfortunetly, Michigan had to be the one's to take the hit for the enitre NCAAF.

Actually I would say "Michigan take[ing] the hit..." is just an example of a school in turmoil.  No one complains about working too hard and too much when they enjoy what they're doing and who they're doing it for.
 
This "allegation" ... nay, "complaint", is a pathetic attempt to get RRod out of the locker room.  As a former D1 athlete, a code of honor was broken while tattling.  Advantage = Shamrocks

I've gotta go with Notre Dame in the one. They impressed me last week and I think Michigan is still pretty aweful. Notre Dame covers.

Notre Dame -3.... I know Michigan looked good against W. Michigan.. but this is a veteran N. Dame team.. going to be alot tougher this week.. and no.. I'm not a Notre Dame fan.. Sharp

Well.....I am a Notre Dame fan, as my friend Sharp knows, and I am here to tell you that two freshman QB's running a complex offense against one of the most underated defenses in the country coming into the season is a recipe for disaster!! 
 
Michigan set a school record for points allowed in a season last year!!  You don't fix that in one off season.......Western Michigan is a good little football team but they aren't Nevada on offense!!  Nevada was a top 10 offense last year with all the important ingredients returning......WAC conference player of the year year at QB........Leading runner in the conference at tailback.....a backup RB that ran for over 1,000 yards.........Michigan won't be able to muster much against that ND defense...........and incase nobody was paying attention...........Clausen in the last two games played has completed 82% of his passes for 716 and 9 TD's without a pick!!!! 
 
This is the game to pound this week boys and girls.  Charlie looks smug and snotty again, because he has know all offseason that this team is the best he has had and he is going to enjoy being on the good side of most the games this year. 
 
Irish haters be ware........don't go against them this year blindly out of spite like the last couple years.......hate them all you want.....just don't bet against them this year........or you'll have a whole new sense of hate for them as you loose money and they keep performing above expectations!!!!  (albiet, for a change)

This game is huge for both programs.  I think they both have made great strides.  They both are good teams, despite the smack and the previous year.  Michigan will cover if not win in the Big House.

i have no dog in this fight, but after watching ND last week, albeit against a significantly weaker team, i was really impressed and you could see VAST improvements from last year.  i like ND to cover by at least 10 here, and i really only think it is that close because it is in the big house.

They beat up on a smaller weaker WAC team last week at home...BIG difference now facing a MUCH improved and more in-synch Michigan team in the big house...

Taking ND in this one.  Golden Tate is one of the best receivers in the country and finally Charlie has his QB playing the way he needs.  This offense is potent..  Last week and the Hawaii bowl wins were no flukes.  This team is for real and could run the table this year (well maybe not USC). 
 
Look for a solid win for ND against MI.  Michigan is much improved but not quite there.  Getting close though.

Best part about this game is that someone gets voted off the island

Hope both teams beat the crap outta each other and the Spartans can extend their win streak to 7 in South Bend next week.

As for this game, I'm going to lean with the Wolverines +3.

Just put my money on the Irish. ND looked solid last week, but more importantly, they did not make mistakes. Michigan still looks uneasy. GLTA

Anyone ready for an opinion from someone not named - "IrishLuvr", or "OSUHater".....

Richard Rodriguez is a lame duck coach, and his team has no respect for him. They didn't even look all that impressive last week against weak-ass Western Mich., while Notre Dame shuts out Nevada?!?!? Not that Nevada is a powerhouse, but anytime you shut someone out, that's a pretty big deal..... Hell, even Charleston Southern managed to get 3 off of the Gators......

Anyways, Michigan will get "Crucified" by Touchdown Jesus. This game represents just one more "NFL grooming" stepping stone for Jimmy Claussen. Honestly, I don't know how Michigan's even in the "Others Receiving Votes" category........... I guess after this week they won't be - Notre Dame in a bloodbath.........

Rodriguez teams have a track record of playing much better in year two. The players understand the offense, stop thinking and start hitting. Say what you will about Michigan's opponent last week, but they did what they're supposed to do to a MAC team. 

I'm going with the home team and the team with an offense that's tougher to game plan for. Michigan plus 3.

Notre Dame almost always starts
a season with a lot of undo hype.
I don't think this is the case this year.
Charlie's 1st shut out; against a top
offensive team last year that had a lot
of key players back. No one expected
that. No let down, the Irish should win.

   Im the farthest thing from a ND fan that youll find in this forum . But that doesn't mean i like to throw money away.
   Granted Michigan has greatly improved since last year,and given the chance I believe coach Rodriquez will have them competing for a BCS Bowl Game in three years.
   However ND has improved enormously themselves and I believe that at this time they are about two years ahead of Michigan.
   The fact that this game is being played at Michigan will probably keep the game closer than the talent level would indicate.
   With that being said I hate to admit it ND by double digits.
    Watch out there good this year. Championship good? NO WAY Lay down the crack pipe Lou .
