Worst bad beat of my life today at Ellis Park

Sorry to hear this WKU. I have seen the stewards make so many mistakes in all my years. Used to be that inquiry would happen at least once a day. I used to see horse taken down all the time. Some desearved some did not. But I rarely see any inqs. at the Cali tracks.

Years ago I was at Del Mar and my friend was an assitant trainer for a very good Nor Cal trainer. He called me when I was at the track about an hour before the race. The horse was a first time starter but he said the horse was just kicking down the barn door and wanted to run. Get this, the horse was 40-1. Bobby Gonzalez horse was 1-5. So I bet 20wp. $2 DD to all. $2 pick three to all.

So I am at Del Mar and gotta watch the race on TV. Bobbys 1-5 horse breaks the gate and just knocks my horse to his knees. Not only that he was breaking from the #1 hole and took out about seven others. After about 20 yards this horse looked like he broke from the #12 hole. He just drifted to almost the parking lot. Ends up he beats my 40-1 by a head. But I am dancing in the streets. My brother walks up and says why you so happy. I said this mutha f***ker is going down. But than wait no Stewards inq? Bang the offical lite is up way to early. I call my friend and say WTF why didn`t you put in a jocky inq. He says we tried but they said no.

So of course the next two races the biggest longshots on the board win. This cost me about 50k. But I did have 20wp on the horse.

I just watched the replay of that race.  That was an awful DQ.  There was a ton of daylight between the horse they took down and the horse that fell.  Terrible.  The 1 had no shot at hitting the board. 

The horse that won that race came flying at the end. 

I still can't get over that.  It was an awful DQ there, like you said the 1 had no shot at hitting the board and the 2 finished 3rd.  Still cost me a very very nice tri and I'm still sick over that.

I went to Ellis Park as I do every Saturday during the live meet and experienced the worst bad beat I've ever had in my life.  I from time to time bet a tri box 2,3,4, and 7 which my uncle used to do blindly for the fun of it and I inherited that from him.  I bet this bet on a 50 cent tri box int he 5th race ($12 bet).  The race went off and the order of finish was 3-4-2-8 so I hit.  What's even better was the 3 was 23-1, the 4 was 4-1 and the 2 was also 23-1 and this is a 11 horse field so the payoff should be pretty nice.  The heavy favorite wasn't in the money either which helps.  The 1 horse went down about 200 feet from the finish line and the stewarts reviewed what happened.  The determined the 2 horse is going to be DQ'd.  The 2 didn't do ANYTHING whatsoever...he was on the rail and the 1 was outside of him...the jockey on the 2 was whipping with his left hand and the 2 pinched the 1 just a little, these were 2 year old first time starters so these horses didn't know what to do, although the jockey should have switched the whip to his right hand and tried to move the horse closer to the rail according to the stewarts.  IF the 1 would not have gone down there would not have been ANY objection.  Bottom line the 1 clipped heals with another horse and the stewarts were looking to put blame on someone and they chose the 2 horse which cost me my win.  The new order of finish after the DQ of the 2 was 3-4-8-7.  I still almost hit my tri except the 8 was in there.  The 8 was 6-1 and the tri paid $407.10 for a 50 cent tri...if my 23-1 shot was in there like it should have been I would imagine the payout would have been over a grand easily.  I went from the top of a mountain to the bottom of the ocean once they DQ'd my horse.  I did get a little "revenge" on the next race.  I played the same bet again and it hit again but there wasn't any objections in the 6th race.  It paid $150 and some change for a 50 cent tri in the 6th race so I still walked away a winner today, but not as big of a winner as I should have.

earlier this year i had 500 WP on a pletch horse in a G1 on the turf down at gulfstream.  the horse wins and they DQ him for total bullshit all the way to last.  just to rub it in they bump up court vision from IEAH stables michael iavarone i hate that prick.  he still refuses to pay mullins the winning cut for IWR in the wood last year. total prick. 

About 20 years ago I was Stockon fair and on the last race of the day they said the camera broke. Well almost everybody at the track new the order of finish. But they pu the horse that ran 3rd 1st. No BS I totall riot broke out. People were throwing beer bottles. It was a very ugly scene.

I was the only one at the track jumping up and down after I "won" my bet.  The jock on the 1 was still on the ground so the crowd was silent watching for movement from the jock on the 1 who was on the ground while I was celebrating.  Then I looked at the tote board and saw the dreaded X next to the 2.  I still didn't think they'd take him down, I went to the bathroom and when I came back out I saw the 2 wasn't on there any longer and I wanted to throw up.  It's all part of the game I suppose
