Guys (and ladies) –  I have been following Covers for awhile now and I try to use this forum as just another tool in my handicapping. I think it's okay to tail someone if they have proven to be a good handicapper or they seem to be on a hot streak. But when someone clearly has no spelling or math skills, I usually dismiss them as buffoons. How can I trust the intelligence of someone who cannot spell or add? Please tell me your thoughts. I would appreciate only legitimate responses.

I disagree. People with bad grammar may not know English but some can flat out cap.
I am more than impressed with some cappers on here, not all with great English skills.

That's why am asking guys. Don't get so defensive. I'm simply asking if overall intelligence has anything to do with being able to cap games. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I'm not so arrogant to think I could be wrong.

Most good gamblers didn't spend their youth studying math and English.....

Wow is all I can say. Not sure in all my years anyone has use the "if you can't spell, you can't cap angle"

It seems to me there is a major element of math involved in gambling. It seems to me that understanding the odds (the risks) are critical to long-term success. Sure, you could play a heavy favorite and win, but in the long term playing those big favs are going to bite you in the butt.

math, yes. english, not so much. degens and cappers come from non-english speaking countries too. there are some good cappers who don't even engage in small talk and simply put out plays, how then do you know if this person is legit or not? you don't. those are the ones that are harder to "read". some cappers can write write-ups in perfect english but their reasons for a certain play might not be sound.
