If you're just trying to add a cherry on top and catch a middle then i believe you are playing it right. If you are looking for a true hedge then you should ML Mich. A $270 bet on MIch ML leaves you taking home 445/430 either way no matter the outcome. If you go with the points you can bet half of the $700 and win 350 either way (not counting juice) or you can decide how much to put on Mich but let's say you put 200 on MIch +4 and they cover and there is no midde. Then you are left with only $200. You should maximize your winnings and not sweat a lick by hedging the ML or just let it ride.
