#2 Posted: 3/26/2012 4:28:05 AM Yah right. 30 years. The '96 squad w/ Tony Delk, Derek Anderson, and Antoine Walker (back when he actually in shape) would've destroyed these guys.
What are you? 15? |

#3 Posted: 3/26/2012 5:15:27 AM The 96 team was real good, but this team plays unreal defense & they present match up problems at every position. Davis is a game changer on defense & this team is very efficient on offense. I know anything can happen in sports, but I cannot see this team losing. All 5 starters are projected to go in the 1st round.

Probably apples and oranges but the '96 would have destroyed these guys?
Who would be guarding Anthony Davis again? |

#11 Posted: 3/26/2012 3:06:06 PM same defense that allowed indiana to score 90 a week ago? This team is great but they are capable of losing in this tournament. They just haven't had the toughest road. Baylor has been soft all year, same with Indiana. Lousiville is the toughest team they will play but still not a powerhouse. Only team I can see beating them at this point is kansas.

#17 Posted: 3/27/2012 10:02:29 AM Mclatchyhostage... the cats beat the jayhawks like a step child early this season. The game was play in the garden, and how have they played no one the beat every top 10 team they played... they had beat 3 of the final 8, UNC, Kansas, and the Ville... all within a month tough stretch if you ask me. Indiana was the hardest place to play all year for any team. Oh st, purdue, mich st. All had the same faith as the cats at assembly. This team is in no way better than the 96 team, this is however due to Level of competition. The parity in college bball is much more evident today, than it was 15 years ago. Cats still win every tourney game by double digits. |

Seriously?? Best D ever??
I agree they are a solid defensive team but, Oladipo made them look like they were standing still. The only solid D they had against him was keeping it out of his hands.
I think Louisville's quickness can be effective against UK. Not sure it will be enough to pull out a win. Louisville really need to shoot the 3 well to have a shot, unless of course UK lays an egg. |

#19 Posted: 3/27/2012 11:01:56 AM Maybe, but the UNLV and UCLA team of the past would put a whoopen on these boys..... Dont get me wrong, they are a solid team but i dont think they are the best team in the past decade like a lot of 'experts' are saying

Holy crap....no way. I really can't say who would win, but I know it would be a great game. I think the 96 team overall might be better and definitely deeper, but the 96 team didn't have anyone like Davis either. Tough call in this match-up. |

#22 Posted: 3/27/2012 12:24:34 PM The 96 team was awesome! I follow Kentucky as well... the best part about the 96 team was nearly everybody could hit 3's .. Delk, Walker, Anderson, Mercer, McCarty, Epps, Pope, Sheppard.
That team was nasty!! Tough to compare the talent these days because most of the really good players head straight to the NBA.
Good debate though! |

#24 Posted: 3/27/2012 2:05:54 PM The 96 team would beat these guys by double digits. Far more depth, offensive weapons, cohesiveness, and experience
