First off I got the "square" play with TEXAS SOUTHERN at +2.5 vs. Mississippi Valley State. The line goes to 4.5 but I roll with what took. I go to work, get outta work and see they're getting smoked by 20 with 8:00 exactly left in game 55-35. Go grab a cold one @ the local watering hole and peek back to see some how they're down only 8 with a minute togo. Hope? Not likely.
Here is a quick breakdown before my miraculous prayer question....
TS hits a triple with 58 seconds left DOWN 67-62
MVS turnover and foul. TS hits 2 FTs DOWN 67-64 54 seconds (BALL GAME FELLAS!!)
MVS hits triple with 24 seconds left now down 70-64
(remember I'm "square" so I have to pull within 2. GAME OVER!!!
Not yet. Texas Southern, shoots (and misses a 3) , gets offensive rebound....shoots (and misses another 3) , gets another offensive rebound and then makes a layup 70-66 with only TWO SECONDS now left!
Timeout, Timeout, Timeout.....foul on Texas Southern (obviously down on other side of court)....makes first 71-66, misses second ....and somehow hits a TRIPLE with 1 second left for my cover 71-69.
QUESTION....was it a 65 footer? Anyhow...how's that for a miracle?
