Two open conference tournament futures tonight in Drexel and Fairfield, so obviously vested interest there. I'm not going to hedge off these, but contemplating whether I want to increase my exposure or pssobily play the total. Here is what I am on to this point..
Miami OH / Toledo OVER 125.5 (7.4 units to win 7.05)
Many believe this will be the last year for Coach Charlie Coles and he has endured quite a rocky one to say the least. Injuries and legal issues have sidelined top players and he was personally hospitalized just last month. It's likely his players think this might be his last, and while that doesn't put the ball in the hoop, I think this team goes all out for 40 minutes. Both teams are decent from the field, but also shoot above 70% from the free throw line. I expect a tight, back and forth game, and I think foul shots have a meaningful impact on the total .
Western Carolina / Davidson UNDER 144.5 (8 units to win 7.62)
The Catamounts offense is rolling, putting up back to back 80+ points in helping them reach the Southern conference final. While things seem to be clicking, this is a team that ranks 232nd in the nation in FG %. Davidson is the best overall team in the conference, and while they have no issues beating you in a track meet, they can also beat you with defense. Western Carolina should be patient and not try to get up and down with Davidson as they don't have the horses to keep up. In road and neutral games this year, WCar is averaging 63 points per game. Now off back to back 80+, I expect them to come back down to reality a bit against the league's best team, both in gameplan and in execution.
