Anyone ever solely faded the public??

I was just thinking about this...I was wondering if anyone ever just solely faded the public.....I was thinking look at the top 10 public bets of the day and just take the opposite. Anyone have an educated guess how this would turn out?

One time i was at a poker table and the dealer could not shutup about how he was taking the over in the Chargers/Raiders thursday night game.

I mean this guy was going on for almost an hour. So I got up and placed a big bet on the under, which easily cashed.

This point in the season is a good time to be a square bettor. The books are solely concerned with sharp money and are shading lines to keep the sharps at bay.

Never tried a system like that. But if you take into account general public betting % and line movement you can easily hone in on the sharps. I.E. about 80% of the public pounding NC tonight but the line has not budged from 5.5. This woud lead most to believe the sharps have put some money into Miami tonight. Hoping it moves to 6.

If I see over 70% on a game I will play the opposite. If my bookie, very rare, moves a line I will bet opposite. My bookie texts all the lines around 3 hours b4 first games and never changes, I get a TON of between plays :) I will also never bet a game that 55+ of the public is on, and I rarely bet if it is even 50%. Obviously the public covers sometimes, Florida last night ugh, but you make money fading. I think I might start fading every public play tonight just to see how it goes hmm. And I agree with Miami and Rutgers was another.

In football, I played against public bets using pregame.com as my source for the numbers. If the site showed 70% or more on a side within half hour of the game time, I would play the opposite. Ended up the season something like 113-109 for the entire season in college football, and 15-20 in NFL. Not exact numbers, but it was in that ball park. Take it for what it&#x27;s worth.

Doesn&#x27;t need them. The most elementary handicapper can figure out sharp action is holding the number in its current place.

If you take a little time, it&#x27;s easy enough to check.  Covers has a "consensus" tab.  When you click on it and look at college BB, you can put in a date and see which games were "public" picks.  Set a threshhold, say 65% or 70%, track the scores, and see how well it works.  Post your results, then we&#x27;ll all know.  Do a little homework, I&#x27;m sure you can figure it out.&#xD;&#xA;FYI, Monday there was one play over 65%, and it won.  Last night there were 4 plays, and they all won.  Sunday there were 3 over 65%, and the public went 2-1.  &#xD;&#xA;I think we need a bigger sample to make a decision, but 7-1 is a pretty good record for the public this week.
