#1 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:29:30 PM Record on neutral court.
Now I know to cut down the nets at the final 4 you have to win atleast 6 neutral site games to become National champion, but still something to consider.
2011 National Champion - Uconn: 14-0 (neutral site)
2010 National Champion - Duke: 13-0 (neutral site)
2009 National Champions - UNC 9-1 (neutral site)
2008 National Champion - Kansas: 10-0 (neutral site)
2007 National Champion - Florida: 12-1 (neutral site)
These numbers favor two teams so far this season. Duke (5-0) and Marquette (4-0.) If either of these teams win their conference tourny, the numbers say they should win it all. |

You're reaching.
But yah, this stat means nothing. Can be re-worded to say "If you're a big school and have your conference tournament at a neutral site and win it, then you have a good chance"

And you're just being "technical".

#5 Posted: 2/15/2012 1:25:15 AM That's and interesting stat, but I would let you bet whatever you wanted that Marquette isn't cutting down the nets come April. Duke could be a sleeper team if they get hot from deep in the tourney, but their defense leaves so much to be desired, unlike the above listed teams.

#7 Posted: 2/15/2012 2:16:06 AM Duke relies on the three way too much. They can be really good, when they are dropping, but when they aren't they can be beat by half the tournament field. |

#9 Posted: 2/15/2012 3:16:47 PM Well considering none of the champions in recent memory have had more than one neutral court loss, those numbers would eliminate Mich. St, Kansas and all the one loss teams who don't win their conference tourny. |

#10 Posted: 2/15/2012 3:22:53 PM This is a cool stat, very interesting. I love how everyone jumps on this to attack those 2 teams based on nothing about the neutral court record which is the ONLY point you're making. Good stuff man. |

#11 Posted: 2/15/2012 3:28:55 PM The problem with that sample size is that you can find many links. Especially considering this stat where the variable is somewhat implied in the feat you are looking to predict. I.E to win the national championship you must go 6-0 on nuetral court sites.

#12 Posted: 2/15/2012 3:32:25 PM Yeah I won't be using it solely just pick National champion.
If I'm filling out my bracket and am stuck on a game where I can find no clear advantage, record on neutral court might be the determining factor. |

Nothin wrong with throwing that in the capping mix, especially when you throw out revenge, travel and situation (sandwich and lookahead games).
