Two games where the spread wasn't decided until the final seconds of the game. Considering that making out with a split is probably the way things should have went. Could make an argument for 0-2 or 2-0. Louisville fought hard against Syracuse and had their chances to win the game outright. Luckily thanks to Dion Waiters missing the front end of a 1 and 1 with 1.7 seconds left they were able to hold on for the narrow cover. Kansas State also gave a solid effort on their home floor and midway through the 2nd half I fully expected they'd win the game outright. In the final minute Kansas did everything they could to try and hand KSU the cover. Two turnovers (both traveling, one by Taylor) and two missed FT's on the front end of 1 and 1 (again both by Taylor) yet KSU still couldn't get within the number. I do feel good about laying off on Iowa State as I was worried Baylor would be looking to take out some anger which is exactly what they did. All things considered coming out of this 1-1 isn't too bad.
Looking over the Tuesday card now and will be back with some leans in a bit. |

Keep in mind UVA is already w/o Sene and even if Harris plays he won't be as effective. Clemson barely lost at JPJ and with an academic casualty back they should get a home win. BTW I went to UVA. |

I'll have to read up more on Bama and figure out what's going on there. Whose out, whose in, etc. Don't have time to do it now, but will tomorrow. If all checks out I very well could be on the tide. Early leans actually against Texas and Virginia which I'll get more into tomorrow should I decide to lock in plays on those games. |

#6 Posted: 2/14/2012 1:07:59 AM David, any thoughts on Georgia State -3? This one really jumped out at me. James Madison is pathetic, barely escaping against Towson who we know are one of worst Div. 1 teams in recent memory. G-State has cooled off a bit which may explain this low number, but plays good 'D' and should be able to control this bombs-away, terrible rebounding J-Mad. team without much problem. |

I'm not a fan of laying road chalk, I'll very very rarely do it. The fact this lined opened at only 3 causes me to raise an eye brow. Yes Georgia State is 17-9, but only 6-5 on the road. I'd probably lean Georgia State but nowhere near enough to play it. Tread lightly if you do. As I mentioned earlier, line is a bit fishy. |

Hope it works out for you bud. I won't be touching that game. Tough to lay points on the road with a team that hasn't won a road game all season. Regardless of who their playing |

Nothing locked in on TCU yet for me, or against Texas for that matter. Going to take a deeper look into both right now. |

#14 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:17:34 AM Clemson -1.5 - Good spot for Clemson here at home with a shot at revenge, and with one of UVA's most important players banged up. Joe Harris by far UVA's best perimeter player will be a game time decision tonight with a broken left hand. Yes that isn't his shooting hand, but even if he can give it a go tonight he won't be nearly 100%. It's really hard to tell based on the information out there if he'll play or not, but I'm comfortable with this bet either way. When going against Virginia it's critical you have a big man that can go up against and hold his own with Mike Scott. In Devin Booker, Clemson has just that. Booker is every bit as big, strong, and athletic as Scott is. The better he can do 1 on 1 against Scott down low the less Clemson will have to double down low and leave open shooters on the perimeter. When these teams met Jan 31st in Virginia, Clemson only fell by 4 points and have to feel like they could've come out of there with a win. A close road loss like that should give them the confidence they need to believe they can pull off a victory tonight. I'll certainly be expecting it. |

#15 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:22:21 AM TCU +8.5 - Textbook sandwich game here for UNLV. The Rebels are coming off a hard fought 2 point home win over SDSU, and have New Mexico waiting for them on deck. For those not as familiar with the MWC conference, it's a 3 team race. SDSU, UNLV, and New Mexico. Meaning two of the biggest games of UNLV's season bookend this road match up against the Horned Frogs. TCU is a totally different team at home then they are on the road. On the season they sport a 4-4 conference record, 4-0 at home, 0-4 on the road. I'd like them getting 8.5 at home tonight even under normal circumstances but with the UNLV sandwich angle I touched on earlier I like the play even more. I'll go even further and say if UNLV sleeps on this TCU squad and tries to sleepwalk through this game, they could very well lose outright. |

#16 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:33:37 AM LSU -1 - Revenge at home will be on the menu tonight for LSU as Mississippi State comes to down. At first glance with LSU you'll see a 10 loss team that's only 4-6 in SEC play. However a deeper look will show a team that's 4-1 at home in SEC play with that only loss coming to Kentucky. These teams met in Mississippi in late January with the bulldogs escaping with a narrow 5 point win. The fact that LSU was able to hang tight in that game is a good sign for tonight's rematch. Another edge LSU should have tonight is their very stingy defense, that will be critical towards slowing down a solid Bulldogs offense. On the year LSU ranks 31st in the nation in defensive efficiency, and really take pride in their defense. Going on the road in the SEC is tough enough, doing so against a defense like LSU's makes it even tougher. Throw in the revenge angle which should lead to a very inspired LSU effort tonight and it's enough for me to roll with Tigers. |

#17 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:39:07 AM George Mason -1 - A nice time for a play against VCU here as they come off an extremely hard fought close win on the road against Old Dominion. Yes a win like that is very big for VCU but there's no denying it can take a lot out of the tank. To have to follow up a game like that with another road test against a team like George Mason is no easy task. I won't really knock VCU as I think they're a good, solid, well coached team but to ask any team to win back to back road games against 2 of the better teams in the conference is a lot to ask. On the year George Mason is 13-1 at home and haven't lost a game there since December. I don't look for that 2nd loss to come tonight. |

#19 Posted: 2/14/2012 11:44:20 AM This might be it. Took a long look at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Alabama, and Oklahoma, but just not enough there for me to make a play. This very likely will be it.
Current Card:
Clemson -1.5 TCU +8.5 LSU -1 George Mason -1 |

Anyone who asks why I like Mason should just be referred to this stellar writeup. Echoes my thoughts to a tee and I know we're both big proponents of the consecutive road games angle. Plus, playing a physical team like ODU has to take its toll.

Clemson looks good at first glance at home after losing at Virginia earlier I agree. Can't bet LSU games as I am always on the losing side regardless if I play against them or take them

TCU game just looks so good to me. Almost too good to be true. 4-0 at home in conference getting 8.5 against a travel weary UNLV team off a huge win, and with a huge game on deck. A TCU outright win wouldn't even surprise me |
