#3 Posted: 2/8/2012 6:53:49 PM Creighton not so much under the radar, they were just ranked 12th.
The tourny is really top heavy with the #1 seeds already basically set.
I'm interested to see where Murray State is ranked, I think they'll be a 4 seed with the potential to play Kentucky in the Sweet 16.

There is a day called Selection Sunday where the bracket is basically announced. Basically, there is a tournament committee that decides who gets in by looking at the teams' quality wins, bad losses, RPI ranking, etc. The conference winners also get an automatic bid into the tournament and all the Committee has to do for those teams is figure out where to seed them.
I think Kentucky will probably win it all...but my "under the radar" teams (for now) are Cleveland State, Temple, and California.

thanks jdamon, i also like Cleveland St, but we will see. Me personally i dont like picking favoriites cause they have way more pressure on them. Plus there so many talented teams out there. i dont like when experts say upsets, its not an upset. it just nowadays the programs and players are getting better and better. gl on your picks jdamon...

#10 Posted: 2/8/2012 10:14:13 PM I have UNLV in a 40 to 1 bet.
I think neutral court will give them an edge.

They arent good enough to beat team outside the big 10 with their pathetic offense.
Cuse, Duke, Michigan and Baylor could get beat early.
UNC and Kentucky have to get the slight advantage as of now.
Kansas/Mizzou/Mich St/Vandy could go fairly deep.
Creighton is gonna find it tough going vs atheletic teams that can put a man on Mcdermott. WSU and clev St are gonna have a tough time getting in the tourny, but could win a game or 2.

I agree about Baylor. They are a team that just hasn't been upset this year yet, so they are still in the top ten, but they can't stay with the top teams.
Right now, I think Kentucky is the team to beat. I am thinking Coach Cal might finally win his first national title. |

#23 Posted: 2/8/2012 11:29:03 PM I love how a lot of people are picking teams that likely won't even make the cut.
The only way California and St. Louis get into the tournament is if they win their conference tournaments. Without that, they are not getting at-large bids.
My favorite right now is Ohio State. I think that close game against Purdue is really going result in this team raising their level even more than it has been. My mid-major picks to make some noise are Harvard, UNLV, San Diego State, and Davidson.
My pick to perhaps cause the biggest upsets of the tournament is Weber State. They will undoubtedly win their conference so they will be in the tournament. If Lillard is having an on-night this team can potentially beat anybody on any given day.

Incorrect in relation to St. Louis. They make it regardless. |
