Two plays yesterday both hitting road blocks as Butler decided not to show up in the 2nd half and Long Beach St played a very competitive game but losing by 4 in OT
Purdue takes on Alabama in the title game in Puerto Rico. Line opened with Purdue as 1 point dogs, currently at +2.
This should be another good game for the Boilers and their biggest test thus far. Can Purdue continue to shoot the ball extremely efficiently? I think it's entirely possible, and again should be the focal point if Purdue wants to win/cover. I hate how thats the scenario - you live and die by the long ball, which is a recipe for disaster as the season moves along.
For me, I don't like Purdue today. J. Green is going to have his way down low against a so-so interior defense, and offensively Purdue will get nothing from their bigs. However, our guard play of Lewis Jackson, Kelsey Barlow, and Anthony Johnson have played very well at penetrating the middle of the floor, creating good looks for our shooters. Robbie Hummel and Tony Mitchell will be fun to watch, both guys will get their points.
Keep in mind these two teams played a home and home series the last two years, with both games being won by Purdue (I actually traveled to Tuscaloosa for their road trip, and Bama was up by 17 before a furious comeback gave Purdue the win). Some of these Bama upperclassmen I'm sure don't forget that, and will be out to get Purdue even more tonight.
My advice is to take Alabama, but I will not be playing it. Situations like these would force me to root against Purdue, which I won't do. Should be a close game though so it could very well go either way.
Other games I'm interested in right now:
WASHINGTON +3 RHODE ISLAND +10 IONA -6 GT -3 CREIGHTON +1.5 WICHITA ST +1.5 NORTHWESTERN -2.5
Locked in:
W. MICHIGAN -1
