Its true.  VCU is simply the hottest team now. They had a bad season and did not deserve the bid. But this tournament and all playoffs for that matter are not a direct result of regular season play.

VCU didnt deserve a bid. either did USC or Clemson. the bubble was awful this year. but now it's plain to see that the regular season doesn't matter. it doesnt. look at UCONN (9th in Big East), Butler and VCU. they all underperformed in the regular season and they find themselves in the Final 4.

The original premise of every single pundit was correct:

"THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE 'GREAT TEAM' IN COLLEGE BASKETBALL THIS YEAR."

HoustonSports,

Thank you. This is a betting forum not a Alma Mater Cheerleader forum.Did you win the bet or not?I do not care who win or loses as long it covers the spread or total. This goes for the Raiders and the Warriors.

Which is exactly what the regular season is and should be...The time when teams play, practice and prepare for the final games to decide who the best team is at the end of the season, the point many in college football do not get. Who cares how good a team is at the start or middle of the season, those that practice, get better and win on the field of play in a tournament or play-off should be the champions and cudos to VCU and Butler for proving the point...As I said elsewhere, Thank god for VCU's sake that they are not TCU in college football and got a fair shot...

I do find it a little strange that so many people are bashing Jay Bilas for pointing out the obvious.  VCU was a very, very questionable selection by the committee.  And he was just one of many to do so.

VCU deserves all their praise at this point for their incredible run, Butler as well.  They have played outstanding basketball.  But it also doesn't erase the fact that they were probably not deserving of a berth.

Curious to know if all these people defending VCU now had them going this far in their brackets??

But HoustonSports is right..... as long as you win your bets!

If you have watched Bilas over time, it looks to me as if he isn't into the job they way he used to be. You can sense his anger and frustration during games over the course of the season in spots.

Wow all the VCU haters. Just give the kids credit. Whipped Kansas behind from the opening tip. I'm sure Jay Dickhead said nothing about Kentucky shooting 3's out there behind. Made everyone they shot last 10 minutes. Part of the game. They will cause problems for anyone. Bigs that can stroke the 3 and drive. I hope VCU wins it all and shoves the Trophy right up Bilas behind.

I love that Prick Self got his behind handed to him today. Only would of been better if VCU was up 40 with there starters still in the last 5 minutes running up the score like that Prick Self trying to win by 60.

It does not matter who wins or loses ,it's who covers.

Regular season and tournament.

Apparently you haven't watched many of his games.  2nd half total on a game was 82 this year. He's up by more than 25 the whole 2nd half. Usess no shot clock last 10 minutes still trying to score. Starters went the  whole way. Was on 81 with 30 seconds to go. This prick runs a play up by 30  and doesn't  dribble out the clock and scores to hit the over.

No not just that game. He runs the score up all the time. But thats OK. Karma is a girl. He got it stuck in his behind and broke off today. Just another Kansas team with all the talent in the world and another disappointing tournament. Pretty much a common theme.

The game you are talking about is the Ok State game....it was a sub who took the shot...who gives a garbage, the kid wanted a basket.

And Bill Self isn't a prick for what it's worth.....but whatever you think is fine...
