I don't comment too often on covers but have been a follower for some time. This is the deal...2 buddies of mine run their own book (they call it "operation" which is gay) and have been for approx 3 years now. They originally started during football season with some small players (25-50 bettors) and one "big" player (500). They told me this big player gauranteed them a high volume of plays each week but in return asked them to give him 20% of his losses. They agreed. When they told me about this deal I told them they were retarded for giving him 20%. They told me their reasoning for it which kinda makes sense...small players will lose but obviously, for most people, the more money you bet the more you lose so they gladly accepted his offer despite only keeping 80% of the losses. They wanted more, higher action and at the time that's all they were able to get their hands on and he was basically giving them what seemed like 90% of their action.
Now fast forward to present day and they have grown their "operation" quite a bit with players who bet in all ranges and from what they tell me that even includes a few more "big" players who don't get any kind of a cut from their losses while the original guy (now betting up to 1,000 on games) is still getting 20% and he is now no where near that guesstimation of 90% of action they were origially getting. From what they tell me they have guys who bet more ($) per game than him.
I've been on their ass about cutting his % to 10 which I told them to do origially because I saw this happening back 3 years ago. They won't say it but I know they are fearful of losing a client, especially the one who basically started their "operation." I wanna know if you guys are in agreement with me. I know it's none of my business but I think they are pissing money away with this whole 20% bs cut (FOR 3 YEARS NOW!). If I get others in agreement with me maybe they'll open their eyes and see how much money they've lost due to poor negotiating skills. I also know the 20% guy a little (friend of a friend) and the few times I saw him he seems like a scumbag and it would be cool to screw him over a little after screwing my buddies over for so long.
Feedback would be much appreciated.

I hear you. That's what I tried telling them. At the time I see why they did it...they were desperate for action but I told them 20% was going to bite them in the ass. After the first season when this guy basically built their bankroll they should have man'd up and rolled up the red carpet and bring him back to reality

They say they don't wanna lose him because when they get completely loaded on one side of a game he's not on and they need opposite action they call him up with a line movement (half point) and 9/10 times he gives him action. Even games they like and they have action on it and they want the other side they call him up and do the same thing
