Fed vs Delpo

Thinkin Fed is a lock here, Clay will hurt Delpo's style and benefit Fed with his ball placement. I can see Fed moving him around the court and well timed stop shots will be impossible for Delpotro to get to. It will be difficult for that big body with a long stride to change dirrection and sprint on clay. Delpo will win a lot of his service games but when his serve is off during the Match i think he gets broken.

Here is a stat. Coming off a 5 set win, Fed wins the next match 3-0 close to 95% of the time...

Federer has had Delpo's number since the USOpen final shocker. That said Fed isn't in great form but he still should come thru here.

Absolutely not.  Del Potro grew up in Argentina so he's very familiar with the clay.  Also Del Potro takes long backswings so it takes him some time to wind up and smack the ball.  On slow clay courts he is able to really wind up and dictate rallies against his oppenents.

This is why Del Potro is complete shit on grass.  The ball gets on him too quickly for him to get setup into his windup.  Throw out the last year and a half as Juan has been getting back into form since his injury.  He has played very well this tourney and has a good shot at it tomorrow against Roger.

Delpo might lose but it won't be cause he's not good on clay or used to these conditions.  Grass is the surface where he is pretty bad.

One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to clay is that certain power players don't like the fact its slow. Like baker mentions....players with big swings like Del Po and Soderling love the slower conditions as it gives them more time to setup.

Delpo has all of the weapons to win this match... only thing keeping me on the sideline is the knee issues.

Yeah this clay is great for DelPo's game, what a great mover he is.... Fed just slicin and movin him around.
