Vera Zvonareva vs Caroline Wozniacki

Anyone who witnessed the match vs Azarenka can confirm the Belorussian was in complete control before choking like a Pro as she did for most of 2009 like nobody else. This resulted on Wozniacki being on court for over 3 hours.

Vera Zvonareva went all the way last year reaching the final in this event and I expect her to come out strong in order to repeat last year's journey.

In their previous meeting Zvonareva did some damage on her first ball winning 74% of the points behind it while dominating all the rallies and despite shooting12 double faults (that is the equivalent of 3 games!) she won in straight sets 6-4 6-2.

This is because despite players went on different paths for 2009 the truth is that Vera Zvonareva is a bad matchup for Caroline Wozniacki because she has her running around the court dictating the rallies. If we add to this that Wozniacki is not 100% this is some great value on Vera.

She is a nutcase and she often chokes but +151 is some fantastic value for what is a match close to 50/50 that will probably go 3 sets and has one of the 2 contenders already with a 1 in the win column and not 100% physically.

Also, as Wozniacki's post match interview confirmed, the injury is still out there:

"The strapping definitely helped. You try not to think about it too much, especially in the important moments. ... It's not great for the leg, running this much."

LET&#x27;S DO THIS!I am not exactly gonna you for this pick since I was on it for two units already BUT seeing you on it increases my confidence in it a lot so I am going to beef it up some. I really felt like at dog odds I was getting a steal on Vera. My plan was to fade Wozniacki all her matches but since Vika choked in epic fashion the books are creating a non-injury line. But to me she looked limited so all Vika did was create value for Vera to exploit.Good writeup. This was the pick that stood out the most to me at first glance. And the girl who upset Vera, which also affected this line IMHO, was brilliant that day, though obviously Vera should have made a better run for it. Still, I love the value.

Thinking the nutcase/choke factor will be minimized due to very low expectations, same as when Vika played JJ that first match. Once the expectations came she crumbled. For mentally weak players being the dog is usually pretty important. Vera should think of this as a no lose situation and be able to thus hit freely.

Amen.This is why Zvonareva is great against Top 10 players.They are the kind of girls that are dangerous as outsiders and unreliable as favorites.Zvonareva against Pennetta at the US Open was around &#x2B;160 and she completely blew it wasting 5 match points for a straight sets win against the best player of WTA during that period.I love Zvonareva as the outsider.I trust her as a moderate underdog.

I can&#x27;t believe the line. Wozniacki should be an auto fade right now. She is just not playing well at all since the US Open. I just loaded up on Vera 1st set &#x2B;120 (because Vera likes choking complete matches) and put a little on Vera 2-0 &#x2B;315

Almagro is really the only favorite I have laid money on this week, with Chardy yesterday as well. I did have Montanes at &#x2B;185 over Santoro, but also had but also had Ram at &#x2B;135 and Venus yesterday at &#x2B;175. I just can&#x27;t believe she actually had a match point 2nd serve chance and could not take it down. Once it went to a tiebreak I knew I was toast. Venus looked lost on her serve. When she got it to 6-5 I really thought little sis was giving it to her.

Got to love the prematch interviews. Vera smiling, beaming at her chance and saying she is just there to have fun, is not thinking about her chances one bit, good memories from last year, etc. Wozniacki when asked about the leg said "Well when I woke up this morning it was still there, so that's good."

Vera relishing her dog role and Wozniacki further verifying the injury as significant. Not that her being potentially injured was the only factor in play here. I just feel like Vera is very solid and just the type to find cracks in Caroline's D.

Good grief how much do I hate Vera. She has cost me so many matches after steamrolling and then tanking. Wozniacki has come out getting blasted in matches and then making comebacks so I take Vera 1st set only instead of full match. Why do I keep trying to make logical bets.
