Please someone give me a reason not to place a large wager on the under in the Liverpool/Everton game. I've watched both teams play multiple times this year and both teams really lack a finisher, sure Liverpool has Suarez and a few other who can once in awhile put the ball in the back of the net but more often than not i see them miss on their opportunities.
Lets look at a couple of factors playing into this game:
Everton: Very tight on defense, giving up just a little over 1 goal per game both home and away (1.04). That back line has been hard for anyone to crack all year. On the road they only give up 1.15 goals per game. In the last 20 games they have only given up 2 goals in 2 games, January 11th vs Tott and Jan 4th against Bolton. Also very average on offense. They barely average scoring over 1 goal per game (1.04) and on the road only 1.00 goals scored per game. They have been in great form lately and i might even consider placing a small bet on them ML with a 1-0 win.
Liverpool: Man are they struggling right now. Barely beat Cardiff City for the Carling Cup, lost to Arsenal at home (in a game they easily should have won but couldn't finish opportunities), and lost to Sunderland on the road. While they have been in bad form lately they still do not give up goals at home. On the year they are averaging just .77 goals conceded per game. They have a solid goalkeeper in Reina and a sold back line. They have also struggled to score to score at Anfield averaging just 1.15 goals scored per game. Only 1 game (01/16/11) in their previous 10 head to head matchups have gone over 2.5 goals total.
I honestly thought when i went to bet this the game would at least me 2,2.5 and when i saw i could get it at under 2.5 (-124) i couldn't believe it. Open to any opposing view as i would like to know why anyone would lean on the over.
Also on: Reading (ENG-Cham) -103*vs Doncaster (ENG-Cham) - Reading in great form, dont usually like to play too many away teams but couldnt avoid the value here.
Jahn Regensburg (GER-3) +102 Draw (SV Darmstadt 98 (GER-3) vs Jahn Regensburg) +237 1/2 - German league 3, no clue about the teams but Jahn have not lost at home all year (6 wins, 6 draws)
Other games i considered and will probably place a small bet on: Fleetwood Town Inter advances +170 Preston (ENG-One)/Tranmere (ENG-One) Under 2½ -128 Nottingham Forest (ENG-Cham)/Derby Under 2½ -132

In regards to the Everton match, while I agree the under looks good, in the last 39 meetings between the two, 20 players have been sent off, so anything is possible and it might be best to swerve this play. GL with your decision!

Thank you for that input Ushpa. I was not aware of that. That's a lot of players sent off and can definitely have an impact on the game! A red card can create lots of opportunities for one team.

My pleasure, and your right a red card definitely can ruin a bet awfully quick, and even though I'm seeing a lot of support for the under around in cyberspace, I'm inclined to try Everton NTL, although with these derby games -- and as desperate as Liverpool is -- a Pool win wouldn't shock me at all. And athough I've never made a bet on the Red Card market, I may just try throwing a little on their being one produced today just for fun. GL with whatever you decide!
