Hard to blame the manager when he came to town with a washed up squad.  Give him a few transfer windows to bring in the youth and type of players that he wants in his squad before you judge.

he doesnt know how to manage this team at all though. his substitutions are puzzling to say the least

and why the hell does he keep subbing sturridge out???  It may be irony, but everytime he takes sturridge out, they go downhill fast. they are either leading and give the lead up, or tied and then lose

I agree his substitutions don't make sense but that's the only knock on him right now for me.  I can't judge him right now when 90% of his players aren't his; he inherited the most washed up team in the EPL.  Terry, Drogba, Lampard, and co. are all well past their primes.  Ancelotti did an astounding job of making it work for him but his resistance to bring in youth to supplement this older group is really hurting Villas Boas.  Its too bad Ancelotti didn't have to see the repercussions for the lack of his own foresight. 

I do agree his substitutions need work though, like I said.  Sturridge is definitely their best player but he refuses to accept that.

yeah I don't understand why he keeps taking him off. I completely agree that they are washed up for the most part, but Abra doesnt let anyone have control and thats the main problem. Ancellotti wanted Aguero or Suarez and Abra gives him Torres. Its just a joke, and its not going to change. If Abra didnt hand the reigns completely to Ancellotti, then he certainly isn't going to give it to AVB

Abramovich paid a lot of money for AVB, don't think he's going anywhere for a while.

he also sacked Ancellotti a year after winning the prem league and coming in 2nd when he sacked him

and like ARK said---Ancellotti had these same washed up players, but got MUCH better results. Plus, he wanted aguero or suarez and Abra gave him torres. And, he didnt have Mata or Sturridge like AVB does

Well Ancellotti had a lot more time with this squad and built his team based on his own formations and tactics.  He may not have gotten everyone he wanted but he definitely had a say on the types of players he received.  AVB will get the same it just takes time -- its not fair to judge him yet.

Abramovich is a business man, he's not gonna toss away 10M or whatever that he payed for AVB.

Ancelotti did not cost anything.

avb isnt going anywhere according to him at least .. his approch is insane but he also has given the green light to buy and sell, no manager dare to put lampard on the bench or terry .. he is just cleaning house .. playing mind and ego game with the players who really want to stay or leave .. anelka and alex were first and now malouda wants to rejoin c a  at psg  drogba kalu lampard arent happy.. so its a clean house by next season.. i dont like the results.. but avb has proved that he can win do or die games (aginst  valencia )

Lmao at even suggesting Torres should go. Shows a lot about how much you know about your club. What kind of a team could invest 50M into a player and then sell him for 15M a year later? That shit cripples clubs financially. Furthermore both Drogba and Kalou will be gone for a month for ACN. You want to sell Torres and leave yourself with Sturridge (who when his goal scoring form dries up does not offer much else and hasn't yet led the line) and Lukaku (completely unproven)? Drogba has been one of your better players lately anyways.

Terry is massively overrated and only seems good because he is England's/media's golden boy. It's for that reason a lot of the dirty tackles and other things he does go completely unnoticed. And of course he is playing next to a joke like Luiz so of course he will shine.

AVB made a horrible decision and took the jump too soon, now you see where he's at. If he had stayed another year at Porto he'd have made the CL run, probably win the league again, then start over knowing the players he needs and a commitment by the owner to overhaul Chelsea HIS style.

But he just took the same team that's always been there the last five years, no sympathy just a stupid decision.

terry wont go any where he has been at chelsea  since the age of 14..torres wont leave unless the price is near matched.. he was the wrong player for us .. he fits in  4-4-1-1 not 4-3-3.. he might click this season.

Fernando Torres will not CLICK this year and for the rest of his chelsea career, he will never capture the form he had at Liverpool, yes he mite nick a couple goals here and there but he will never get to his best for a couple reasons one he lacks a huge amount of confidence and will never get any without a run of games. Second he is just getting the service he used to at liverpool what people forget to mention is how good Gerrard was to Torres he set up a high percentage of Torres's goals, and hes just not getting that brilliant pass he used to get not to mention he looks like he lost all his pace and touch. Third reason being Torres doesn't look comfortable at Chelsea, at Pool he has a lot of spanish speaking players not to mention the coach it just clicked for him and he will never come back to that same form, that being said he will most likely be sold this summer

It went tits up when Makelele retired, and Terry got found out for the idiot slow defender he is - they got rid of a ready made replacement in Scott Parker now Spurs are chasing the title.

Mikel is shite, you can buy Modric and a million creativ players but you need ball winners, Essien out has also really hurt them - watch them buy Modric and a decent def midfielder and Torres will start to prosper he has lost all confidence -lack of sunshine probably.

If you look at giggs scholes maldini went on til 36\40 odd age is a number av ripped them apart on the counter Terry again made mistakes Torres looked good but o think this coach is overrated these players maybe mid thirties but they are strong but look shit mourinho would still
