After a month it IS. The world cup. Me personally - i am for Argentina, They have the best chances to win, better than Spain, England, Germany, Brazil. Look at the squad - Messi, Kun Aguero, Milito, Higuain, Tevez, Mascherano, Heinze, Samuel, Lucho Gonzales, Maxi Rodriguez, Andujar... Maradonna didnt show that he is a good coach, but he need only to choose the squad and LET THEM PLAY. Only this.

I have no faith in Maradona but hey, that's just me. Great squad, but the coach means a lot as well and I don't think he has what it takes to win it all.

ok, but i am not so sure that Spain will go to the final - they have to beat maybe Brazil or Portugal(i think that portugal will not go through the Group), than Italy- Spain have good squad but this is not enough.

Looking at the squads -- Argentina looks strongest, but remember how they got here. They was close not to making it and as others do, I don't have fate in Maradona and I don't belive he's a good enough coach to win it...
Brazil have a great WC history and always a fav, but I belive their missing the playmaker who they previous had in Ronaldinho (who imo improved this season, but still not at the top of his game..). They got a strong squad, but I got othere teams who imo is stronger..
France is a hard one to figure out. They can win it all or end up as a big flop -- I belive they'r gonna struggle this year and I won't even bet on them before their prove me something... Remember, they shouldn't realy have been here...
Italy is always a team to look out for in the Cups. They got a strong team as always and especialy their defense. IMO teams like Brazil would/will struggle vs their defense without a creative playmaker..
Spain is my fav as they got a great squad, great coach and in recent years -- a winning menatlity that they've been missing in previous WC's. They might have to play through a tought schedule to get to the final, but I belive Spain can manage that.
I see Portugal going out in the group stage vs Brazil and Ivory who looked strong at the end of the qualifiy after a struggling opener..
Got 2 dark horses for the Cup -- not to win it, but as a future bet as I see them both at least going through the group stage... USA have been doing well in the WC in the recent years. In 2002 they knocked out Polen and Portugal in the group stage, won 2-0 vs Mexico in the 16th before losing out to the WC finalists Germany in the QF. In 2006 they ended last in the group, but I watched every match and they was no "push-overs". In their first game vs CZE they wee close to taking the lead an tieing it up at 1 before losing 0-3. In the second match they played 1-1 vs Italy in a match they dominated and was real close to score in their final 10 mins of the match when they were playing PP around Italy's penalty box. In their last match they lost 2-1 to Ghana in a match that was wide open. The match could have gone either way, but Ghana got the winning goal with 5 min's or so to go... Mexico got great players who don't want to travle to Europe and is always a hard opponent. I belive they're a stronger team than both Uruguay and South Africa, an I won't be suprised if they win the group either with unpredictable France in it...
