Spring has finally arrived !!!!

I know most people judge the arrival of Spring by gradual weather changes,flowers starting to bloom,days getting longer but you know spring has truly arrived when a Serie A match has the draw priced up at less than 2.00

This Sunday's game between Chievo & Catania the draw opened at the usual 3.20 but has since plunged to as low as 1.83 in places.Chievo the home team are 3.00 whilst Catania are available at 5.5 with Bet365.com.It is clearly obvious that a draw would be mutually beneficial to both teams this weekend even though they both are mid table several points above the drop zone.

I remember reading an article back in 2006 that stated when the draw is priced up less than 2.00 in Serie A this time of year, it generally does happen.The data given back then, if memory serves correctly, indicated that in the 3 or 4 seasons before 2005/06 it would have come up 8 out of 11 times.I do not have any figures for the following seasons but it is something to keep in mind if betting this game.

If I remember correctly even in all internationals ie.( WC DEN vs. SWE )recently african cup of nations. If a draw is mutually beneficial it almost always happens

A think Europe changes next week

I know Ireland does anyway so it will be back to the usual 5 hr difference between GMT and EST  not good if you like to watch NHL or NBA from the West Coast  games starting at 3 or 3.30 am 

This one has indeed finished in a draw, Chievo 1 Catania 1 with Catania equalising after a 'soft' penalty was awarded to them

All of next weekends fixtures look legit enough with a few clubs badly needing home wins Atalanta,Lazio & Udinese, so playing for the stalemate won't do them any good.But it's worth keeping an eye on this over the coming weeks if any more dodgy fixtures come up I'll post them here in this thread.

Well this game finished Bologna 2 Lazio 3 

So the shortest priced draw so far this season turned out to be a loser for anyone who backed it.

I was away last weekend but  think there was one game between Bologna & Parma which was shorter than evens. Either way it didn't matter as Bologna won 2-1

Another game worth keeping an eye on, is Inter's trip to Lazio where many Lazio fans are calling for their team to lose in order to put a dent in bitter rivals Roma's title hopes.
Inter are as short as 1.30 to win this and must get a result to keep the pressure on Roma, who won away at Parma this evening. Inter are also on course for a Treble as they have the Coppa Italia Final against Roma this Wednesday to look forward to as well.

Today it was one draw and a home win (and I really liked Bari @ 3.25 but didn't pull the trigger  )  Caglari drew 2-2 with Udinese &  Bari beat Genoa 3-0.

Siena got relegated today with a home loss to Palermo, so it really looks like either Atalanta or Bologna, and with an outside chance Lazio, to go down.

Looking ahead at the final two weeks it looks like Atalanta will go down as they travel away to Napoli then home to Palermo,whilst Bologna are home to Catania and away to Cagliari there's a couple of short priced draws right there. Will update midweek

Today on the penultimate day of the season there were 2 such draws which came in for backers. these were;

Bologna vs Catania @ 1.61  (finished 1-1)

Udinese vs Bari @ 2.50   (finished 3-3)

All the relegation and European spots have been decided, the only thing left up for grabs is the title, between Roma & Inter, along with the final Champions League spot being fought between Sampdoria and Palermo.

So at virtually the end of the season, these 9 draws have not been as profitable as you may think, going 6-3 with a overall unit profit of 1.88 Units per 1 unit wagered 

Looking head to the last day of the season next Sunday nothing really stands out as being dodgy pricewise although Atalanta may throw in the towel at home to Palermo as they have nothing to play for and the Rosaneri can still clinch 4th, as long as Napoli beat Samp in Genoa.If anything comes up I'll post it here just to have a record of it.
