Best Kind of Steak?

Had a 1.25 lb rib-eye last night that I broiled.  Pretty decent.

But I'd much rather have a fat T-Bone, grilled outside, almost charred outside - but damn near bloody inside.   Without the fat trimmed off.

I'd say I would go T-Bone over filets, strips, even Porterhouses......


What are you guys' steak preferences?

AAA Sirloin.  Seasoned with Salt, Pepper and Montreal Steak Spice.  BBQed 5-6 mins on each side (one flip) for a total of 10-12 on a 'que that's already been heated to at least 400 F.
 
Comes out nice, medium rare every tme.

I like Kobe Steak the best but it is expensive.

i cant eat the fat and grizzle on the others...makes me sick

KOAJ - call me sick but I love eating that piece that is like 3/4 meat, and the other 1/4 charred fat..........so good.

not a huge fan of ribeye. too fatty.
 
Filet is the best, marinated in pure olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper. Gotta be grilled on a bbq.

Rib-eye Angus steak, pastured in the Rocky Mountain foothills, finished on barley, but with a hint of oats, and dry-aged for 29 days.
 
That bad boy must be done outside on the grill, with a beer in hand. Just drop a bit of kosher salt on there and cook it the way you like it.
 
With the aging you will notice a big difference in quality and price.

call me crazy... but if you marinate and grill sirloin tips properly... they are pretty hard to beat

Buffalo (bison) filet.... 1/2 the fat, much less cholestrol, more protein than the equivalent filet from a cow.
 
Slightly more expensive depending on where you live and your butcher.

I know it's not technically steak, but I don't know why peope don't talk more about beef tenderloin.  You can marinate or eat it with 5,000 different sauces, and it is as tender as the day is long.  And it's actually not that fatty at all.

I've never been a fan of the filet. HOWEVER, I'm a fan of the bone in fillet. If you're ever in the LA area, stop by Maestro's in Beverly Hills. The bone in filet is the best dish I've ever had in my life. Its a good 4 inches thick. Its a miracle how ever bite is seasoned. Expensive, but a must have.
