Hello covers members, going to buy a 60 inch HDTV this Thanksgiving holiday and need help deciding which type offers the best picture. Money is not a factor, just want the best brand and picture. Please share your opinions. Thanks

Depends what you want? Style? Best picture? What do you mainly watch? Bright or dark room?

I'm doing some renovations to my basement and currently in the market myself. While I don't have an unlimited budget like yourself, primarily because it's just a waste I'm planning to buy a good TV.

Best value TV on the market are the Panasonic plasmas. This will be in my basement so plasma works in my case because there isn't much natural light down there. I really love the styles of the thin bezel, edge lit LED's. Although these don't rate as high on picture quality as the Panasonic Plasmas.

I'm looking at the ST series myself which is cheaper but gives me what I need and is probably the best value on the market.

I think Sharp makes and LED that supposedly rates really high but is insanely expensive. Sharp Elite i think it's called.

LED tv&#x27;s are LCD tv&#x27;s that are backlit by LED&#x27;s. They are better than the original flourescent-lit LCD&#x27;s in that they produce better black levels, but they are still LCD. If you go for one I would suggest you get one with a 240hz refresh rate. I&#x27;ve watched sports on sets with 120hz rate &amp; I can still see motion blur.&#xD;&#xA; I like plasmas but you have to take a good look at them before you buy. Some have very reflective screens that can be annoying depending on how your room is lit.&#xD;&#xA; Have fun.........always cool to get a new set.

One thing I found is that if you have a lot of light in the room you are putting the TV in, avoid a plasma.  Plasma TV&#x27;s have a big time glare.  I just bought a Samsung LED smart TV 2 weeks ago and I am happy as hell.

I have a Panasonic plasma I generally love.  It does have glare, though. Not great when you&#x27;re dealing with a lot of sunlight.  LOVE it at night, though.

My friend actually just bought this tv 2 weeks ago and ended up returning it. There was a glitch with the hdmi inputs and it properly reading 1080p signals from blu-ray, ps3, netflix, etc. It would only properly display everything in 780.He had best buy technician come out and look at it and they said they have only heard about his issue happening very rarely and they would replace the tv with a brand new one. He decided to go with Panasonic Viera plasma. Now that tv is a great tv but my friend just happened to get a lemon. He said it was a blessing in disguise because he likes the plasma much better.

i have a Sony Bravia LED 240hz smart tv with surround sound package.absolutely great looking picture...very clear and vivid. i suggest you get some kind of surround sound speakers cuz the tv speakers are not great on these modern tv&#x27;s.

plasma is better if you watch tv with a lost of fast movement, for example sports or special effect movies. The picture has a faster response time.

Yep, plasma if you have a darker room and also you will get a much better price.  As someone said before, the sound is pretty much shit of most of these.  Invest in at least a sound bar for it.
