#1 Posted: 6/7/2012 1:52:12 AM I got one on my tail bone and it's by far the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I'm going to get it lanced tomorrow but all the baths I've taken to reduce the pain is making it look like its about to pop. If it pops do I still have to have them cut it open?I broke my elbow about 4 years ago and that felt like I was getting a blowjob compared to the pain here. |

Is it a Pilonidal Abscess ?.
If so usually requires incision and drainage under General Anesthetic

#3 Posted: 6/7/2012 2:16:06 AM The dr just said it was a cyst and needed to be lanced he referred me to a general surgeon. So I'm pretty much stuck with the lancing and can't do it myself? Thanks |

let us know what the General Surgeon has to say, but my bets is on a Pilonidal Abscess/Cyst.
best wishes for your full recovery

#6 Posted: 6/7/2012 2:33:25 AM Thanks BMA and messier nah it's not a hemorrhoid cuz it not on my behind. It's at the end of the tail bone it just looks like a big behind pimple like golf ball size, but extremely painful. He said it was probably just from an ingrown hair that got infected. |

yes absolutely correct, the hair causes the Pilonidal Abscess/cyst

i don't remember the diagnosis, but they just cut it and used something that was like a big q-tip to clean it out.

#14 Posted: 6/7/2012 10:34:43 AM i too have experienced that as well.
i actually had that cyst grow back three times, once a year, and it sucks. The draining is painful as well...good luck with that. |

Yea see that's what I was thinking of doing, but I guess I'll just get it drained and be done with it and hope it doesn't come back. The surgery of completely removing it is just retarded it leaves a hole the size of a softball. Tha t might be the nastiest garbage I've seen on YouTube. |

#18 Posted: 6/7/2012 8:07:28 PM If you have insurance just go to an urgent care center. Places are everywhere and normally the same co-pay. If thet can't drain (but don't see why not) they can get you some good pain pills to get you through. You should at least call one. |
