Courts do not apply logic or common sense.  Courts apply the law.  Until the people insist that elected officials stop the insanity of MJ user prosecution, and actually get laws changed, this type of nonsensical persecution will continue unabated.

I cannot speak for rec users, as i only would consider using MMJ for pain relief.  I was in a crippling accident on a highway seven years ago, when a drunk driver bundled up the car i was passenger in, at 70mph. No seatbelt on, i braced for what was coming with my right arm on the 'oh shit' handle, so i suffered a spiral fracture that required a ten inch metal plate and a dozen screws to hold my arm together, and my knees took the brunt of the accident on the dash. I do intensive labor for a living, and am often left with some serious soreness/pain after work. I don't believe in the entire boonswaggle drug industry, so i will not take their pills, however, consuming a small amount of dope makes me feel better. It may not cure the pain, but it masks it and allows me to ignore the pain and it also makew everything happy and funny. It makes me feel good

I can't speak for the guy with MS, maybe you are right, and society is better off with him in jail, than to have him growing plants at home and self medicating with them, but i find that hard to believe.

SOrry there rickey, but you seem to be VERY confused as to how the world around you works. The government seizing drug currency has nothing to do with their interest in keeping MJ criminalized. That's not how the government is funded.

They benefit from the jobs that prohibition creates, along with the extra power it grants the gov over the citizenry, not to mention, anyone that works for the state seems to get off on the pain and suffering of their constituency, otherwise we wouldn't find ourselves where we are today

More importantly than any of this, is all the potential energy and benefits that society as a whole misses out on by not being able to utilize the plant hemp, for all of it's massive benefits. A century ago, this country understood that it was the super crop. The plant had zero competition for it's utility, it was taxed and grown and distributed the world over for too many functions to list
