At Circle K's here in Ohio they had the above label on gas pumps.  I had to laugh.  A bit redundant.  I couldn't believe that a company would make millions of these stickers for a company that ordered them, and nobody once said, "Ummm, it should read 'please pay in advance' guys".

They actually just replaced the stickers and they now read "please pay in advance".

Don't get me wrong.  I didn't lose sleep over this.  But are we really that dumb as a nation?  I realize that many worse goofs have happened than this, but most any half intelligent person recognizes the redundancy of this label, yet there was a multi- million dollar corporation that ordered these, then another huge corporation made them, and then someone realized the mistake after the fact and they were then replaced.  How many people could have caught this mistake but didn't?

I know.  Stupid post.  I just wanted to vent.

Few things here..

#1. The point is to dumb it down, thus no such thing as redundant. It could say please prepay prior to pumping, it's all the same message.

#2. That sticker was probably designed to cut litigation as much as possible. THAT is the really sick part.

#3. darn the Steelers. I hate the fact I can't go near any local bar without being surrounded by stupid yinzers drinking Latrobe brewed Iron City. I'm obviously a product of Iron City, but I can't watch football with anyone that grew up within a 50 mile radius of me. Running da ball and playing "defense" isn't the football equivalent of the golden ticket.

It reminds me of something George Carlin said years ago about when a TV show says "this show was pre-recorded". "Of course it's pre-recorded. When are you going to record it? Afterwards?"

Just an FYI... I've noticed that they've replaced all the stickers believe it or not.  They now read "please pay in advance".

ROFL.. I forgot all about this post. It now also applies to Penguin games. Morons still believe Fleury sucks and that Thiessen or Brent Johnson is a better option.

Apparently somebody pointed out the error to someone and they decided to replace every one of the labels.  Every Cirkle K that I have been to has the new labels.  I can sleep better now.

Neil O'Donnell to Larry Brown was a great Superbowl tandem.

Canovsp- George Carlin was a great man. A very intelligent man who got his messages out through the form of comedy.

They really do, and while almost everyone loves the guy, its astounding how many think he is not an elite goaltender.

...and I can't stand people yelling 'shoot' at hockey games... although it seems like the crowd at Consol has gotten better over the past few years, because of the popularity of the team reaching a 15 year peak.  I friggin loved Pens games pre-Crosby when the 'guinnies were always an underdog, but the crowd was extra dumb around then.  The 'civic arena' is looking pretty sad amazing how long they had half of the dome gone with one giant piece hanging looking like it could fall at any moment.  All that's left now is the giant black support and the small section of dome under it... I have now idea how they are going to get the counterweight for that thing out of the ground.

Pics of it now... 1 and 2 <it sat there looking like that for 2 months.

I don't know why I've typed this much...

All this dumbing it down is a result of the lady that sued Mc Donalds because the coffee was hot and they "did not warn her" how much warning does your behind need? HOT coffee means HOT. That's why I am PROUD to say I am from OHIO, my Grandma always told me

"Everyone is born with common sense, but not everybody chooses to use it"

Enough said!
