i realize the * is in the stats cause of his lapse of "smart actions"
but does el capitan have it in him to do the charlie hustle?
okay rose had his first 18 seasons...full every year about 155 each year. thats just about every day for 18 years? im about 16 yeras into my career as a non-baseball player and ive called in and taking some much needed personal time in that time period. do i consider myself dedicated to my career? yes i do... do i make millions..no i don't! so if i made $$$ to play baseball would i play everyday..yes i would
sorry... jeter currently sits at 16 full seasons and almost 3100 hits. he is only 2 yrs older than me so if he can make it till i retire as a teamster...he will hold the record.
4256...thats 200 hits for 21 years strait...plus 56 more
that being said...pete after 16 full seasons at full throttle was at 3164. jeter now at 3088...and so far still alive in round 1 of '11
pete olnly played 3 or 4 full seasons after this 16 year mark, i thinking because of his coaching career and teams trading him... i was just a kid watching him so i can't be precise, but he still hit.
Does mlb want jeter to hit this....you bet
its like the bonds HR *
can anyone say the babe didnt drink a few coke sodas before his games for a boost. back then coke had ummm coke in it right? maybe he smoked a little meth or something. point is no drug tests and they had a hard enough time keeping records cause it was just a game back then.
is pete rose a top 10 hitter...yes
would pete be a HOF??? yes if he didnt get caught
would bonds be a HOF if he didnt get caught??? yes
did jeter ever do anything to give him an *

matt- grew up a zep fan... no clue what shoe-horn means
it was just a play at the first laughing face of my opinon
I hear you bout Zep. Shoe-horn is just an way of saying that something is forced. i.e. you have to use a shoe horn to get a tight pair of shoes to fit -- or you shoe-horn (force) a random expression into a conversation just because you wanted to use the expression.
I am just giving you a hard time by the way.

Alright soup-can, I recognize your contributions to covers over the many years and I apologize for laughing in your face. DJ is a stand-up guy, never been on the bad side of ANYTHING, and as a die-hard Red Sox fan, I have to give you that DJ is an A-1 top Yankee of all time.
But Pete Rose is UNTOUCHABLE.

All of you morons who are saying he has no chance, why?
If you look at Jeters number of hits so far in his career he is almost identical to pete roses at that point in his career. So what are your fucking points? Sippin on that haterade, I get it..

If he plays until he's 45 like Pete did...anything is possible. But I don't think Jeter has 8 more seasons in him.
Plus...Rose went on to another team. Jeter won't do that. He's one of the few that will stick with one team throughout.
But if he's still batting around .300 and wants to play...I'm sure the Yanks will keep him on. He'll probably learn that, after his contract is up, he'll have to take a year by year contract extension.
