At the public course I mostly play at, like pretty much every golf course on the planet there is a cute young college girl who works the drink cart and drives all over the course.

Have gotten a little flirty with her over past few weeks, and she seems really cool and nice.  Never really figured on acting on it, b/c like any drink cart girl she is the only attractive female around for miles and prob gets hit on by creepy older drunk guys like 100 times per day.

But yesterday had a nice long conversation with her while waiting to tee of on hole 7, and decided might as well take the leap and ask her to go out....I figured this was something of a high risk maneuver as with a hot bartender or club hostess or something, b/c again, this chick prob gets hit on 100 times per day.

So found her at the turn as she was packing up cart for the day, bought a beer and made a fairly sloppy attempt at asking her out.  I'm in my mid twenties and I figured that she is in college so prob she's gone in a few weeks, so figured might as well give it a shot.  Just based on fact that shes cute and gets hit on a lot, I wasn't expecting a great result.  I was prob expecting the "i have a boyfriend" line to be honest.

So I ask her if she'd like to go out for a drink sometime.....and she says "I can't...."  (my heart sinks, I want to die of embrassment) .....I'm only 19 years old....But if you wanna go out to dinner or something sometime that would be cool.  Take down my number"

Took me a second to process fact that she wasn't turning me down, just the logistics of going to "get a drink" were not possible due to her age lol.  So now my question is......19 too young?  I'm 27!!!!!

Im super young looking, could easily pass for 21 or so, so its not like we'd look weird.  She's hot and plays volleyball in college (but normal sized, only 5'7) and I figure this might be last legit chance to hook up with hot young college girl.  Plus she's gone in a few weeks.

Is 27 vs 19 just wayyyyy too weird?  My friends are all saying do it....I'm not sure what to do.   She def seemed eager to go out to dinner, so my read was correct in terms of asking her out.  I just don't know if the age disparity is workable.   Thoughts?

8 years is not much, but that girl is pretty young.

I learned from Tom Haverford on Parks & Rec that the rule of thumb is "half your age + 7".  that would mean that your minimum age should be 20.5. 

i'm happily married, 28 years old.  i could not fucking imagine having to deal with some college chick bullshit right now.

anyway, i guess my point is, i think it's a little young.  but 8 years difference isn't that much if you look back at it when you're 40 or something.

I totally hear you about not wanting to deal with College Chick BS, but obv this isn't some sort of GF potential.  Just some chick I'd like to smash a few times before summer ends.....she made a point to tell me that she's going back to college in a few weeks, which I interpreted as "Act fast buddy".  So its not like I'd have to really deal with/ put up with her for too long.  And as i said above, she's actually pretty cool.  If she was some idiot ditz I wouldn't have even bothered asking her out. 

And as for being married at 28, nothing wrong with that, totally respect you if that's the life for you.  Personally I have no plans on getting married til AT LEAST 35 or so.  Just having fun being somewhat young and irresponsible.  I imagine that will change if I meet the right girl, but I can't see myself being married before 30. But to each his own.

Age isn't the issue....maturity is.  My brother has 11 years on his wife and she is a gem.  They got married when she was 25 and he was 36.  Might as well stick your toe in the water and see how warm it is. 

What is your question?  You already basically asked her out and she accepted.  If the first date feels weird then just leave it at that.  But you'll regret not giving it a shot.  Just be careful about getting too involved, what with her going off to school, etc.  You don't want to a long-distance "relationship", meanwhile she's banging dudes at school.
