1. Ohio St.-------Last year was supposed to be a rebuilding type year yet they end up in the title game.....a lot of key junior NFL prospects like Lauranitis and Boone are back.....maybe third time is the charm for them.....USC game is obviously a biggie....
10-11 wins
2. Wisconsin--------loaded at running back, sr. qb, huge O-line, return most of defense......must play better on the road in conf.
9-10 wins
3. Penn St.-----loaded defense, nice O-line and receiving group.....play of qb and rb is the key for them.....extra motivation if Joe Pa's last year......9-10 wins
4. Michigan-------new coach, lose some talent, especially on offense, but at the same time return talent....Carr left program in good shape......qb and rb play key, much like Penn St. 8-9 wins

5. Illinois---- Zook is loading up with talent......rb is the key loss on offense and both safety positions must be placed....don't forget Zook recruited Florida's National Title team...... 9-11 wins
6. Iowa------potential to be on of the most improved teams in the country.....return everybody on offense except running back.....defense loses some key people but returns key guys also and they have some highly ranked guys ready to step in....8-10 wins
7. Purdue-----Tiller's last season so motivation will be strong.....Painter could have a huge year, loaded @ running back.....wr growth and play is a key.......DL and secondary look good, key on defense will be lb.......8-9 wins
8. Michigan St.-------nice qb and rb, wr spots need to be filled and OL patched....some nice players on d, dl is the biggest ? mark
7-8 wins
9. Northwestern------this team could be under the radar......OL is biggest offensive ? mark.....D has some pieces led by a veteran DL
6-7 wins
10. Iu----- can they build on last years bowl game? Losing Hardy hurts....return key guys on both sides 6-7 wins
11. Minnesota---- a top 25 recruiting class should bring optimism...wonder how many will play right away? 4-5 wins
From top to bottom, a very competitve conference....

I actually think the Big 10 will be even weaker next year. Ohio St will be one of the best teams in the country, and Wisconsin will be a good team. Penn St could be good next year, but it depends on how they run the offense to fit the styles or either Clark or Pryor (still got my fingers crossed about him). After PSU the conference gets extremely weak. Michigan lost everybody, and is right now without even a decent QB. The program is in a major rebuilding year with the new coach, and they should be weak this year. Illinois will be weaker this year than last with the loss of their star player Mendenhall. They overachieved last year and USC showed that in the title game. Iowa isn't nearly the team you think they are and will be more likely a 7 win team. Purdue and Mich St will be decent, but nothing too impressive. IU, Minnesota and Northwestern will all be terrible next year.
I think you're being a little unrealistic with your expectations, as the only team with talent to compete for a BCS title is Ohio St. They will be very good next year, and I see them going undefeated in conference play.

As someone who bleeds Maize & Blue, I think your win total for them is over by about 2.
New coach, new system, and they don't have the athletes to run that system.
Going to be a sad, sad year in Ann Arbor this year for us Michigan fans.
And worst of all, I will have to hear Weathered every other week leaving comments in my Playbook about how horrible Michigan looked after a loss.......just as I will leave one in his after the USC game.

Ohio State will be the most talented group of returning players that college football has seen in quite some time. As usual the entire season depends on if their interior d-line can get pressure. Aside from that I can't explain how important T. Pryor is for OSU. They need to get him so they can implemement him like Florida did Tebow. Without him the chances will be slight b/c Todd Suckman will not win a national title for us. He is no Krenzel

I don't think Michigan lost their entire OL.......they return RT Schilling, RG Mitchell, C Boren, and they have some highly rated prospects waiting their turn....they probably will move Schilling to LT......DL returns everybody and secondary should be strong.....plus they prepared for losing their receivers by bringing in some highly ranked receivers last year......key is obviously qb.......good to see the public is down on Michigan; could create some value

Most Big 10 teams yes, but Ohio St should be able to contend with anybody this year. They have to be one of the favorites to win the NC, along with USC and OU.

I am a huge big ten and ohio state homer, but the big 10 will be weak next year besides the buckeyes. Illinois is ahead of michigan and pennstate in my book. With Iowa being down and michigan state starting 5-0 and finishing 5-8 every year, its a sorry time for top to bottom for us. We need a team like notre dame and their tradition and great coaching to come in and save the conference.....

I really dont see the Buckeyes not winning the Big 10....they will be a better team then they were last season.
I would have agreed with this before last year. Not anymore.
After I saw LSU lose their final game of the season and still make the BCS title game, no way a loss in Week 2, especially to such a high ranked team, will eliminate all title hopes.

Ohio State* is returning a bunch of players that are used to losing to teams that are comparable to them, I don't see the evidence that they will be all that wonderful. What about their past says that they win at USC? Beating Texas with a freshman QB? I don't see it. They have a bunch of guys that will be getting beat up or told how good they are going to be, all year. It is going to go one of two ways for them, a great season and they beat back all of their doubters or they suffer a loss at USC and then begin to doubt all over again and lose a few more times. I think the latter is way more likely. A bruised ego could spell trouble for them at Wisky. Also, from what we have seen from Pryor, his sitting behind Boeckman could very easily lead to locker room issues. I wouldn't imagine he will take too kindly to sitting behind someone that he is infinitely more talented than.

With Carr out, Joe Pa going, Dantonio at MSU, Zook on a roll, and Tressel's dominant(in Conf) teams the Big 10 is on the way up. As for this season.......still just the Average 11.

PennState you guys will be mediocre again and again and again until Joe Pa leaves. Recruits have stated they don't want to go there b/c of the question marks at coach. Dorian Bell the #1 player in Pennsylvania already commited to Ohio State for that exact reason. Joe Pa has let the number 1 PA recruit leave two years in a row including one being the biggest prospect of all time out of PA. Rally the troops and fire Joe Pa

Prior knew going to OSU that he would not be a starter next year, so there should be no problems. He's gonna get some time as a running QB though. As far as being better than Boeckman at this point, that is unlikely, as Boeckman has a solid year of experience and 4 years in the program, more talented and better potential, yes, but you can't take a risk like that. With Boeckman you know he will be one of the better QB's in the country, with Prior as a freshman uyou don't know. If Todd is injured then all bets are off.
