#1 Posted: 1/4/2013 7:05:01 PM With no disrespect to Johnny Heisman, I took done time to break down his numbers. Against the three top teams - LSU, Florida and Bama - Manziel completed 65% of his passes threw for 234 per game had 2 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing td and 3 interceptions. He ran on average for 59 yards at 3.4 yards per carry. Modest to below average numbers but granted these are three of the nations top defenses. Against the worst of the defenses - the non SEC schools - Manziel went nuts throwing for 13 TDs, running for 9 TDs and throwing 2 interceptions in four games. He averaged 120 yards on the ground for an 8.6 average.
Basically he feasted on the cupcakes, got handled by the big boys and was average to pretty good against the rest of the SEC. Bear in mind he avoided So Car, Georgia, even Vandy. So where does Oklahona fit? Closer to the beasts of the SEC than to Mississippi State or Auburn
I personally think Landry Jones is going to outplay Heisman tonight. And I think the Sooner defense has the potential to cause more problems like the SEC beasts than to give up Heisman stats like the cupcakes
Oklahoma +3.5 (50 units to win 45.45) Oklahoma +140 (20 units to win 28) Texas A&M under 37.5 (50 units to win 45.45)

#6 Posted: 1/4/2013 7:10:37 PM The A&M TT under is a fascinatingly good play. When necessary, Stoops is very capable of dialing up a defensive scheme that works. He's got the bodies on the field to do it. I trust he will tonite. |

#10 Posted: 1/4/2013 7:23:26 PM Best of luck tonight with your plays Spaz but one note in regards to your Manziel stats vs the top 3 teams he played this season... Bama, Florida, LSU. All 3 teams in the top 10 in the country in defense with Bama & Florida in the top 3. Then you have OU... Sitting at 45. Bit of a difference there. That's all I have to say. GL |

#16 Posted: 1/4/2013 10:06:38 PM thanks fellas...
Zephyr - valid point and I agree completely, but even with OU at 45, big drop off for some of the other opponents A&M faced. So Okie defense might not be LSU good, but they are closer to that than that od La Tech. Also agree with Getty on his post.
Oklahoma Over 17 Points second half (30 units to win 27.27)
