Pretty important- they've lost two senior starters and a lot of depth:

Habern- Starting Senior Center (30 starts) - gone
Tyler Evans- Starting Senior Guard (29 starts)- gone for year
Dylan Dismuke- RS Freshman- gone knee
John Michael McGee- Freshman- gone homesick
Nila Kasitati- RS Freshman - heart surgery

Could this be the overhyped (FSU 2011) team for 2012?

Habern had injury problems last year (broken hand) and the coaches said he wasnt the same after that. Tyler Evans will be missed, none of the freshman you  mentioned figured to see any time. They are deep at offensive line, and im guessing from your avatar that your hoping your statement is true!! They were overhyped last year, noone has uttered OUs name this year, Its been all LSU, Alabama and USC they have been touting, i dont know what shows youve been watching, but OU is 5th in most of the polls!!

OU lost Ryan Broyles and Dominique Whaley to injury, without that they might have had more success????

My avatar doesn't prevent me from being honest.  TX has o-line issues as well although we will be much improved this year and the inside could be outright nasty.

---but OU's strength this year was coming in with vet QB and o-line. Even mentioned in Boom's analysis.  Now part of that is gone and not like running game has been there for several years now.

You might be surprised, but I believe the D under M. Stoops will be better, despite losing the DEs to the NFL.

Is it good to lose anybody to injury? no

Does every team suffer injuries? yes

Will texas beat OU because 2 starters and 3 freshman O-lineman are injured and off the team? doubtful

Does Texas have a chance at the N.C. game this year? hell no

Habern - didn't play last year due to injuries

Tyler Evans - will be missed

Dylan Dismuke - was not going too see much action

John Michael Mcgee - was going to redshirt

Nila Kasitati - is 90 % and will see some mop up duty

The coaching staff has come out and said that everything is fine and they are not too concerned about the o-line. They have 8 guys that can play.

They have 3 juniors and a senior that will start along with a sophomore. The backups will be sophomores and true freshman Ty Darlington who has been drawing rave reviews from teammates thru out the summer and the start of fall practice. He was one of the top 3 centers in high school last year.

Licking your chops Longhorn?
    *you should be...Sooners don't seem to be the kind of team that handles adversity well....going get's tough....they ain't
     *I WAS.....shocked at how tough OU played Fla St last year........absolute vicious hits.......awesome
maybe Mike Stoops will bring that back to stay....

Going into fall camp....Sooners OL was (probably) the strength of the team and one of nation's best.....4 Sr's and 102 career starts.......now?

LT — Tyrus Thompson, So., 6-5, 303 (0 starts, 5 appearances)

LG — Adam Shead, So., 6-4, 307 (5 starts, 10 appearances)

C — Gabe Ikard, Jr., 6-3, 288 (25 starts, 27 appearances)

RG — Bronson Irwin, Jr., 6-5, 307 (0 starts, 21 appearances)

RT — Daryl Williams, So., 6-6, 299 (1 start, 9 appearance)
________________________________________________

LT/RT — Lane Johnson, Sr., 6-7, 303 (12 starts, 13 appearances)......

3 Sophs + 2 Jrs...(31 starts).....they have lost 5 guys or so (add JUCO Will Latu to that list).......AND....their b/u C Austin Woods has cancer.....(but playing thru it chemo and all).......holy crap.........

OU should lose 2 games or more....Texas....@ West Virginia (Okie St on deck)........and @ TCU (after Okie St)......I think Horns win the Big 12........

OU always has a great line.  I guess it's less about who's leaving than who's replacing them.

Always thought Sam Bradford would suck in the NFL. Sure it's easy if you play for OU and rarely have to deal with a pass rush.  There are games where he can take 10 seconds to throw the ball and nobody's near him.

Im pretty sure that OUs O-line will be bigger than all the d-lines (except Texas) that they face in the Big 12...your thread is much ado about nothing, except hopeful Oklahoma state and Texas Fan Fodder! OSU and Texas will likely have 4+ losses a piece this year, and both their seasons and are reliant on beating OU to have the head coach avoid "Should we fire our coach talk!!!"

ou is going to be fine...they will beat UTEP in week 1 easily...but, I would have a hard time giving UTEP 30 points with a game at the Sun Bowl...

I would not bet on OU in week one!! no way..no bet or UTEP and 4 TDs and a FG, or nothing....UTEP is much improved from the 66-0 beat down OU put on them last time they met! But historically OU has come out in the first game and taken time to get it going! A UTEP cover will depend on OUs defense!

From OK paper:

 “It’s really cool because there’s a lot of trust there with Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach Mike Stoops,” Way said. “You really see them arguing as brothers on the field. It’s cool because coach Bob Stoops is the older one and the head coach, so he gets the final say. It’s funny to watch coach Mike Stoops walking away from that and take it.”
Well, “take it” may be a bit strong. But these two coaches are hardcore, which may not be a bad thing for Oklahoma’s future.
Oklahoma fans began salivating when Mike Stoops returned to the coaching staff earlier this year. The 51-year-old is a bridge to championships and dominating defenses past.

OU 44

UTEP 24

last years UTEP team was down

09/01/1209/08/1209/15/1209/22/1209/29/1210/06/1210/13/1210/20/1210/27/1211/10/1211/17/1211/24/12
OKLA L 0-68 9/14/02 W/N
@MISS No previous meeting.
NMXST W 16-10 9/17/11 L/U
@WISC No previous meeting.
@ECAR W 22-17 11/12/11 L/U
SMU L 17-28 9/10/11 L/U
@TULSA L 28-57 11/19/11 L/O
TULNE W 44-7 10/15/11 L/U
@HOU L 42-49 9/29/11 W/O
CENFL L 14-31 11/25/11 W/U
@SOMIS L 13-31 10/29/11 L/U
RICE L 37-41 11/5/11 W/O

I look at the Tulsa game and the Houston game from last year, seems like UTEP is Jeckyl and Hyde!  keep it within a TD vs. the conference champ...or get blown out by another top conference team! The problem with OU covering would be if they are leading like 45-10 at half and blake bell comes in , or the 3rd string QB, i can see a backdoor cover if OU is wining big at half!

Thats a hilarious thing to say k-state!! Is that what all Big 12 teams hope for, that a team in their conference fails? OU and Texas are the only schools with relevance inthe BIG 12;         K-state guy, Snyder is OLD and about out of gas, when he leaves youll be back where you have always been THE BOTTOM!

Nope, I support all the other Big 12 teams.  Just don't support OU, so you can take the dirty douche out of your mouth and watch it happen.  No offense of course, I just don't like OU.

You perfectly illustrate why the SEC will always be at the top! They pull for their teams and other SEC teams..go rock your PURPLE PANTIES AND SLEEP WITH YOUR SCENT OF BILL SNYDER COLOGNE ON!!

NO way in HELL that kstate wins any championship in your lifetime, not big 12 or otherwise!
