Probably either Southern, Grambling, McNeese, Nicholls, SLU.

That way he can play right away and enter the draft ala Janoris Jenkins.

Sad either way as a college football fan this guy was arguably the most exciting player last year. On defense and punt return, the guy was electric.

This is friggin bullshit. I do not advocate breaking the law, but this is college and college kids smoke weed. Two failed drug test doesn't warrant a dismissal. Now this kid is stuck with no where to geaux. MLB and NBA don't even test for weed.

I know it probably won't but I'm hoping that Week 1 line falls a bet.  I liked it at anything -42 or under but 43, which is what it was at, was a bit too much for me.  Here's hoping all that Heisman hype does us all a solid here.

It was Mathieu's 3rd failed test at a minimum.

It's usually:
1st fail: Warning
2nd fail: Game Suspension
3rd fail: Boot

This dude had a tough life. His dad has been in jail his entire life and his mom is a drug addict.

He was adopted by his uncle at a young age and barely talks to his biological mom and has no contact with his biological dad.

Hope he picks himself up. Everyone smokes weed

He's failed 5 drug test since he started at LSU. His status as a student was in jeopardy and was getting kicked out of school

NBA definitely tests for chronic.  The players are just told when the tests are coming so they know how to prepare and when to smoke in the off season

5 failed drug tests and no rehab? Are we trying to help him or just hoping to make money off of him? How was he only suspended once?

Who said he wasn't in any programs. Like someone already stated, he struggled with his home life and apparently really "didn't give a garbage". If LSU were only trying to make $ off him they would have swept this under thr rug and moved on.

Weed is not a drug you need help with, believe it or not. It was a personal choice for him and it cost him

Apparently smoking dope was more important to him than football. The rules are out there........everyone knows them.

SO incredibly stupid... Yes marijuana isnt a big deal, yes it should be legalized, but cmon bro... Is it that important for you to get high? Yes everybody smokes weed. But you know the rules. You are on an elite NCAA squad and possibly even another heisman candidate. Why take a chance and ruin your future? His draft value could definately go down now. I dont understand why these guys put themselves in these positions. If I knew I had the potential to make 20, 30, 40 million dollars in two or three years, I would be a saint. I would just drink alcohol and have sex with groupies to compensate for my marijuana usage

This is just his way of copping out on college altogether..........get booted, lose your scholly, sit out a year & smoke dope, clean up & enter the draft.
