Lines have been out a while. Sorry I'm late!

No need to ask how I did last year because it was a wasted year and I had to quit halfway through. The record was 21-29 sometime in mid Oct.

No...I didn't drain my account making idiotic-sized bets after being 8 games under .500. I simply had to focus on buying a house instead of my gambling habit.

Now I have a mortgage and most bills are higher than planned. That takes a huge bite out of my bankroll. Until the furniture and assorted-house-filling-swag is paid off, times will be tight.

But I STILL have GAMBLING MONEY!

Only one bet so far..

Nevada
@ CALIFORNIA -11'

I like Cal because they are far better at home. Now they get to play in their new-n-improved Memorial Stadium.
Cal loses a lot on defense but they've been recruiting the front 7 the past 2 years to make sure the drop off isn't too big. (I'd say they get what they pay for...but, nawwwwwwww.)
That one Penn St LB transfer helps the depth. Cecil Whitehead also returns to the team. So if you circled him in your Phil Steele mags...I guess you have to invest in whiteout...not sure what you do. But, anyway, coach let him back on the team so "happy-vibes" all around the front 7.
Cal's D did struggle last year vs The Pistol. But they played UCLA on the road and we know how Cal is on the road. Also, they have all off-season to hear from their coaches how much they struggled last year vs this kind of offense.
Nevada has an awesome QB but who will catch the ball? A JUCO went down w/ an ACL in summer. Some young player is going to have to step up...rarely happens on the road.
Nevada has a good CB unit...but Cal has a future NFL guy at WR. Cal is best at running the ball and NEV is rebuilding on the D-line...after allowing 4.5 YPC last year.

I wish Cal had a better OL...fewer injuries...but no play is perfect, eh?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have a bunch of leans but I'll just hang out and watch the line moves in the next couple weeks.

Hope you win Bro, but I've got to say I could not bet on Cal's
QB, he scares the daylights out of me with his inconsistency.

Cal also has revenge, because Nevada and Kaepernick  embarassed them on national TV two years ago in Reno.

tiasman; Thanks!

TreyInventor; You know i...

WISEGUY36; I hear ya. He did toss a few too many INT's last year. Still, I think Maynard will have a comfortable day. I can always get my money back fading Cal at USC later in the month.

Zoot; Thanks.

bookieassassin, fsutomahawk, nostradamus, & strippersnbens: Glad we agree, guys...

thorpe - I had the revenge angle but edited it out of the post. You know, some people just don't like the revenge angle. But I agree. Giving up 52 still has to sting. I know it stung me because I was on Cal that game. (...and I want revenge for the lost unit...)

many here don't like the 'revenge' angle because they don't understand how to use it.....and...basically don't know WTF they are doing....

Tedford has covered 17 of his last 20 chances as a home favorite.....and 26 of 45 times vs an opponent he lost to in their last meeting............

cherokee10, buddygurt; Good luck, guys, glad to have company on Cal.

bookieassassin; I like how you put things...very concise..."they don't know WTF they're doing"...heh heh

Boom Boom; I know you'd let me in the contest.  I'll watch the action from the sidelines this year...you know how I prefer the sidelines...it's taken like 6 years to get to 1K posts...But next year I'll be first in line.

TreyInventor; Hey Trey. My earlier comment to you was supposed to be a chatty "You know it, man! " not sure how I lost 1/2 my response...

Capper007; Thanks.

I've been keeping tabs on Nevada after I made this play. Couple weeks ago they had another WR injury. They were hoping to add more passing to the offense this year and might have a bit of an identity crisis in their first game...trying to stick with the plan of adding more passing but running out of bodies.

Allowed this thread to die off while waiting for the totals to come up overseas. Finally. They got Thursday's game totals up.

EMU
@ Ball State
OVER 55'
I expect EMU's OL to abuse Ball St's front 7 and Ball State to abuse EMU's back 7. With all that abuse going on, hopefully they're scoring points instead of committing turnovers in the red zone. (It is the MAC, ya know...) Line is only going up...

I'll play the MAC early in the season ...then get pissed off at the conference around mid- October and ignore it completely.

Syracuse L J.  love the over play EMU Ball St.  Two teams with above avg offenses and below avg defenses.  Ball St. QB not bad w/2786 yrds ly. and E.Mich QB threw for 1504 yrds and also ran for 918 yrds.  Offenses should have a field day.
