I can honestly say that if it had been 2 Big 10 teams, or 2 ACC teams.. hahahah .. that I probably would have watched some, but not all.... Everyone complains about how boring it was, because they are used to seeing big 12 teams, who have zero defense score every time they get the ball... and even read somewhere in another thread earlier where somebody claimed that offense wins championships...guess thats why their trophy cases hasn't been seeing any new additions lately. very comical

The ratings were down because the game involved two teams from the same region. It is not indicitive of the college football brand being on an unpromising trajectory.

Not as many watched this year because it was 2 SEC Schools. If there were only 1 SEC school in the game ratings would have been the same. Last year everyone watched because they wanted the SEC to get knocked off. Of course this year that couldn't happen because both schools were from the SEC.
Better luck next year for the rest of the country. But don't get your hopes up. Im sure another SEC school will take it down again next year.
