Most of the other bowls were up in ratings. CFB wasn&#x27;t "down" this year.........it was just the last game that no one cared to watch.

I guess I mean in comparison to other years with the best two teams not being near as good as the other champions. Auburn would have defeated both teams and basically beat both the same teams last year.

Bad comparison. This is only the second year for the NC game to be on a cable network. Last year was the first year. All previous years were on non cable network.

So past year results are not realivant

I can honestly say that if it had been 2 Big 10 teams, or 2 ACC teams.. hahahah  .. that I probably would have watched some, but not all.... Everyone complains about how boring it was, because they are used to seeing big 12 teams, who have zero defense score every time they get the ball... and even read somewhere in another thread earlier where somebody claimed that offense wins championships...guess thats why their trophy cases hasn&#x27;t been seeing any new additions lately. very comical

The ratings were down because the game involved two teams from the same region.  It is not indicitive of the college football brand being on an unpromising trajectory.

i know for fact people here in michigan did not give a shit about this game. last year even for auburn oregon us michiganders filled the bars..this game no one even talked about and today people either said they fell asleep, did not watch, or did not give a shit because of the rematch.

Not as many watched this year because it was 2 SEC Schools. If there were only 1 SEC school in the game ratings would have been the same. Last year everyone watched because they wanted the SEC to get knocked off. Of course this year that couldn't happen because both schools were from the SEC.

Better luck next year for the rest of the country. But don't get your hopes up. Im sure another SEC school will take it down again next year.
