Was that really the call? A 55-yd FG becomes a 50 yarder that Baer \knowck through for the win. But what was the call with :04 left that moved it into that kickers range?
It sounded like he said "Illegal Spitting".
Was the noseguard possibly spitting on the ball before the snap, in order to make it slippery? I've never seen anything like it before.

whatever the call was, it was huge...that FG would not have been good from another 5 yards back. their defense really shouldn't have let them get that close anyway

a lot of people are talking about it on the internet. It looks like people are thinking it's stemming instead of spinning. I have never heard of either one. Sucks to lose a parlay on a call like that, but my luck has been shit of late.

Again no joke, Lindley lost the CIF finals because of this same call. I have seen it twice and both times it f'd lindley. It actually funny at this point

Can't verify if this is true, but seems like one of the Aztecs have been through this before, incredibly --

"STEMMING"....is when a defense deliberately attempts to fool an offense ....into thinking they are in a different scheme....or coverage than they are actually in
*example >> when a secondary lines up apparently in man to man coverage......(CB's in WR's face...Safeties in tight).....and right before the snap (as QB assumes man to man).....they shift....(or stem).....into a Cover 2....or Cover 3 maybe.... so essentially......stemming.....is pre-snap motion by the DEFENSE....and usually legal
occasionally.......a defense will use pre-snap movement or shifts.....which in the view of the officials.....was solely intended to cause the offense to jump offsides...in the manner of simulating the snap count....maybe just before the snap.....the LB will say (to DL)......"SHIFT"......or ....."MOVE"....this isn't really simulating the snap count.....so by default maybe.....they term it stemming......
Since so very subjective...it's hardly ever called....and only usually when a defense has been doing it all game....It was called in the Baylor/TT game it seems.....
It is better to be feared - than to be loved.
