Why is Michigan St. giving 3 points to Iowa on the road?

Seriously, can someone help me understand why Michigan State, who is putting up a whopping 9 points/game on the road this season, is giving +3 to an Iowa team that is averaging 37 at home?

OK, but based on what exactly? The fact that Iowa is much better at home and MSU is much worse on the road? Or based on the fact that MSU hasn't won in Iowa in well over a decade?

Why is it just right? I'm trying to understand.

It helps and it doesn't. It helps because I love seeing trends. It doesn't help because it just confuses me about this line even more.

Because they want you to bet on Iowa.  Seems like that is already what you want to do, so do it.

put iowa in a two team six point teaser. get them at +9.
pick another one you like to go with them. i suggest moving florida up to 9.5. just a thought gltu

Yeah, I can't see any reason NOT to bet on Iowa. But I was wondering if I was missing some big hidden trend or stat that justifies this line.

But okeydokey, I'm putting a big chunk on Iowa +3.

Lay the points with the Spartans. Cousins will be able to throw on Iowa D. Unlike Denard Robinson who still almost beat them last week even though my girlfriend can throw a better ball than him.

The fact that justifies this line is the fact that Michigan State is much better than Iowa.

And MSU beats them by 10. Jump on Iowa bro. I like MSU, got my largest play of the week on them.

Iowa is a different team at home and playing ranked teams.  Iowa always plays to their competition.  Losing to Minn two weeks ago only helped Iowa get better lines going forward.  That is why they were getting 4 points from MI and why they are still getting points from MI St even after beating MI.  Iowa wins this game with a heavy dose of Coker and some big plays by McNutt.  Then look to fade them on the road against Purdue if they are giving anything more than 3 points.

Kirk Cousins has struggled, and has been absolutely horrible on the road his entire career.

I'd be suprised if that trend did not repeat itself tomorrow.
