Am I Missing something here,,,Utah St/BYU

ya revenge factor. for BYU after the ass whooping they took LY in logan. hope this dips below 7 for a BYU play

Like USU in this one...USU beat BYU last year without any of the playmakers they have this year.  BYU is not as strong this year..they are down because as in independent they have NO chance of going to a BCS game after the loss to Texas and the embarrassment to Utah, their real in-state rival. BYU has to settle for a military bowl game, given they win 6 games this year(not for certain yet). BYU has no conference title they play for.  USU has the more talented team here.  I like USU +7.5 and the +250 ML

this is the same strong Utah St team that lost at home to colorado St as 11 point fav's...i like utah St too and they were my biggest play of week 1, covering the HUGE number vs. Auburn. but not in this game...this is a HUGE rivalry and BYU was embarrassed LY, they didnt forget about that. dont be fooled by USU's good performance @ Auburn. these guys will still finish the year respectable but probably wont cover this spread.

Rivalry for who?  For USU yes...BYU's rival is Utah...never has been USU... This game is far more important to USU than BYU...its apparent by last year's result.  GL

Right, but two completely different situations between last year and this year. The 2010 game was arguably the biggest in Utah State history with ESPN making it the Thursday game of the week. BYU ran into an absolute buzzsaw that night as the Aggies played their best game of the season.

You're correct in saying that the game probably meant more to the Aggies last year, but with an additional day more to prepare than USU and the sting of last year's embarrasment in Logan fresh on the mind, I expect BYU to play its best game of the year thus far.

You should also read a few articles about USU's collapse this past weekend against Colorado State, when they coughed up a double-digit lead in the 4th quarter before losing in 2OT. Lots of guys took that loss really, really hard and are beginning to question why they cannot finish games. The Aggies are also quite one-dimensional, and that one dimension (running the ball) plays directly into the strength of a very, very good BYU defense.

Good points, Jfen...Im liking USU to stay close and maybe possibly pull one out for once...Im betting more on being unimpressed with BYU as a team this year, than liking the untapped offensive explosiveness of USU.
