Tonight:
LSU vs Mississippi State
Last year MSU visited Baton Rouge and lost 29-7. However, if you look a little deeper into the matchup you can see that MSU controlled the game in almost every aspect. MSU had more first downs (17-16), total yards (268 - 264) and time of possession (31:29 - 28:31).
The one costly category they did not win was turnovers. MSU had 5 interceptions during the game which killed all momentum/drives. A lot of that was due to the fact that a young team was on the road against a perennial power house.
Tonight the Bulldogs are at home on national TV with a chance to prove to the rest of the SEC they are for real. This has notoriously been a tough place to play and if they can force Jarrett Lee to throw the rock they can force some INT's and win the football game. Dan Mullen is a very smart football coach looking to take that next step and elevate his status to the other top coaches in the SEC. Tonight will be the night.
