LSU -3??? Trap or blowout?

Question

Thursday night game, at miss state coming off a demoralizing loss to a very average SEC team.

Was MSU looking ahead to this week?

LSU is far and away the better team, defensively they should smother MSU like they did Oregon. But -3 LSU is real fishy IMO for a thursday night game on the road.

Tough call here.  I agree with LSU being the better team and I really like this LSU team, however my local has it at LSU - 4.5, makes me want to jump on MSU...

I already took LSU -3.  Miss ST won&#x27;t be able to run the ball the way they want to.  I expect a 28-13 type of game.

Something is definitely fishy about this line, but if you look at the two games we have in our sample size so far, you'll find that LSU has played better competition, covered, put up numbers, and played shut down defense! Oregon is a top ten team and they man handled them... @miss st. is nothing more than another chance for lsu to prove they deserve more 1st place votes! LSU by atleast 10.

I follow State closely and this game scares me; however, i think the close lose to Auburn last week is going to bring this team closer. LSU has a great defense, but MSU has a high powered offense and not the finese box style offense that Oregon runs. This team will run it down your throat (avg 300+ a game rushing).

LSU has OWNED MSU historically, with out looking it up State has won 1 game in the last 20 years vs lsu (1999).

This line has me perplexed as I thought it would be closer to 7. It's the first home game for State this year and it will be rocking. State fans still remember the goal line stand LSU put on us 2 years ago at home (almost identical situation to what Auburn did last week) to win the game. I will probably catch some shit for this, but I think as the season goes on everyone will find out that Oregon is not as good as they were last year. In any event, I think State covers. Not convinced they will win, but i think they keep it within the number.

Miss St. is a good team. I think some of you guys are wanting to discount them because you cannot believe this Auburn team is anything. Truthfully, Auburn has a long way to go, but don't fool yourself into thinking they can't play... alot of young talent on that Auburn team.

Miss St. runs downhill, and does a dang good job of it. They will grind it out with LSU's defense, and I am not convinced LSU's offense will blow the doors off of Miss St. So, with a +1 or +2 turnover, I can see Miss St. winning this game.

Watch for LSU defense to get some turnovers and their special teams to make some crucial plays. Miss ST has kind of perplexed me with their performance against Auburn. Getting points with a talented bulldog team during the night at Starkville has some value; but overall I think LSU will beat Miss ST quite convincingly. Leaning LSU but I will most likely not play.

I was just stating the line he posted for the game and was looking for some feedback.  Online is the next step.  Thanks for the response.

On the subject matter LSU/Miss St. The only way LSU doesn&#x27;t cover will be if they are too high on themselves and looking ahead. And that is based only by what these teams have done in the past 2 weeks. I personally think thats what happened to Miss St. this past weekend, they thought they was gonna be the "cock of the walk" in their sec division and looked past Auburn.

I hate to be so bold as to say you are uninformed... no I don&#x27;t, you are uninformed.  Miss St. hasn&#x27;t beaten Auburn in some time.  Auburn has been a huge target for at least the last two years under Mullen.  He has looked at that early Auburn game as a measuring stick.  You simply do not look ahead of the defending national champions and a team you have not beaten in years.... you just don&#x27;t.

&#xD;&#xA;I see your point and have to agree....with parts of it. Although the coach is a factor in these games, I would say 7-14 points worth, its the players that play it. For all these 18-21 yr. olds to see Auburn almost get beat by a sloppy Utah St. the week before and just won by a onside kick in the waning moments mind you, that would make any Miss. St. Pplayer think that Auburn was a push over. Not to mention Auburn lost practicly everybody from the Championship Squad. Whenever Auburn plays a team that knows HOW to win we&#x27;ll see who&#x27;s informed. But I do appreciate the constructive criticism. Bottom line: Miss. St. don&#x27;t know how to win when its game on the line and 1 yard to go.
